MEP Project Manager
Group PMX
Role Description The MEP Project Manager is responsible for managing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) scopes for retail construction projects across the East Coast. This role works remotely while supporting multiple active sites, ensuring MEP systems are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes, brand standards, and project requirements. Key Responsibilities - Oversee MEP scopes from preconstruction through closeout for retail buildouts, renovations, and rollouts - Coordinate MEP design consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams across multiple locations - Review and manage MEP drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings - Ensure compliance with local and state codes, utility regulations, and client standards - Manage MEP schedules and sequencing to support fast-track retail construction timelines - Track budgets, cost reports, change orders, and forecasts related to MEP work - Conduct virtual coordination meetings and periodic site visits as needed - Support procurement of long-lead MEP materials and equipment - Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover documentation - Partner with project managers, superintendents, and clients to resolve MEP issues quickly - Support closeout activities including as-builts, O&M manuals, and warranties Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) - 5+ years of experience managing MEP scopes in retail or commercial construction - Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systems - Experience with retail rollouts, tenant fit-outs, or multi-site programs preferred - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment - Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction software - Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Company Description At Group PMX, we are more than just a project, program, and construction management company; we are a community of passionate professionals dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and creating collaborative environments that promote better project performance outcomes for our clients and partners.
