Role Description The Windows Systems and Infrastructure Engineer role plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the Windows systems and infrastructure that underpin our IT operations. Leveraging your expertise in system administration, network architecture, and cloud technologies, you will support the organization's technical infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deploy and optimize IT solutions that meet the company's evolving business needs and support its growth objectives. - Design, implement, and maintain the organization's Windows systems and infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and virtualization platforms, to meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements in the cloud and on-premises. - Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in system administration and infrastructure management, and recommend solutions for enhancing IT capabilities and efficiency. - Deploy and configure physical and virtual servers, storage arrays, networking devices, and other infrastructure components, ensuring proper integration and alignment with business objectives and technical requirements. - Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using scripting languages, automation tools, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) techniques to streamline operations and improve efficiency. - Perform system administration tasks, including installation, configuration, maintenance. - Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, and implement proactive measures to optimize performance, mitigate risks, and ensure high availability and reliability of systems and services. - Execute and monitor routine backup and restoration processes to safeguard organizational data and support disaster recovery efforts. - Implement security controls, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and cybersecurity standards. - Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities and assist in incident response and forensic investigations as needed. - Manage and administer cloud infrastructure services, such as compute instances, storage volumes, virtual networks, and identity and access management policies, across multiple cloud platforms. - Optimize cloud resources, monitor usage and costs, and implement cost-saving measures, such as rightsizing instances, leveraging reserved instances, and implementing tagging strategies. Education and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience. - Proven experience in system administration, infrastructure engineering, or related roles, with a focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT systems and infrastructure. - Experience with infrastructure automation tools, scripting languages, and version control systems.
