Role Description The Cloud & Infrastructure Solutions Architect is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for architecture, design governance, and technical delivery oversight across assigned customer environments. This role provides technical leadership for cloud infrastructure, on-premises platforms, networking, database infrastructure, backup, disaster recovery, and operational resilience initiatives. This position serves as a customer-facing technical advisor, partnering closely with customer stakeholders and internal leadership to define infrastructure strategies, architecture roadmaps, technical standards, and long-term operational objectives. The role is primarily focused on architecture leadership and governance and does not include direct people-management responsibility; however, the individual is expected to influence delivery teams, reinforce technical standards, and drive accountability for architecture alignment and implementation quality. The role reports to the Vice President of Technology Operations and collaborates extensively with cloud, infrastructure, network, database, development, security, and project delivery teams. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. - Customarily has at least 10+ years of experience designing and governing complex cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure environments. - Demonstrated experience providing architecture leadership, technical governance, stakeholder engagement, and resilience-focused infrastructure design. - Strong architecture experience with Microsoft Azure, including cloud infrastructure, networking, identity integration, security, backup, and disaster recovery. - Experience supporting multi-cloud environments utilizing AWS and Google Cloud Platform for targeted workloads and integrations. - Experience governing enterprise infrastructure environments that include virtualization platforms, compute infrastructure, storage solutions, networking technologies, backup platforms, and disaster recovery solutions. - Experience collaborating with infrastructure, development, database, networking, and security teams to support integrated technology delivery. - Experience working within managed services or enterprise IT operations environments is preferred. - Relevant industry certifications are beneficial, including Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect, VMware, Fortinet, backup, database, or disaster recovery certifications. Requirements - Lead architecture design and technical governance for cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure environments. - Define and maintain architecture standards, design principles, solution patterns, and technical governance processes. - Provide technical leadership and oversight across infrastructure initiatives to ensure alignment with approved architecture standards, resilience objectives, implementation timelines, and operational requirements. - Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customer stakeholders by translating complex technical concepts into practical business and operational recommendations. - Present infrastructure strategies, technical roadmaps, architectural recommendations, risks, dependencies, and resilience considerations to customer and internal leadership teams. - Lead architecture design activities for Microsoft Azure environments, including networking, identity integration, cloud security alignment, backup, disaster recovery, and cloud-native resilience solutions. - Provide architecture guidance for AWS and Google Cloud Platform environments supporting targeted workloads, integrations, and platform-specific requirements. - Govern architecture standards across on-premises infrastructure domains, including compute, virtualization, storage, networking, database infrastructure, backup platforms, and disaster recovery technologies. - Develop disaster recovery and operational resilience architecture strategies, including dependency mapping, recovery patterns, platform alignment, and resiliency planning. - Provide architecture direction for disaster recovery technologies and cloud-native recovery solutions while partnering with operational teams responsible for implementation and ongoing support. - Collaborate with development teams to evaluate infrastructure dependencies, deployment requirements, security needs, performance considerations, and environment strategies. - Review technical designs, implementation approaches, infrastructure changes, and architecture risks to ensure alignment with operational standards and long-term technology strategy. - Support architecture-related project coordination activities, including tracking technical decisions, dependencies, risks, and design approvals. - Partner with project managers, delivery leaders, and technical teams to support successful execution of infrastructure initiatives. - Mentor and guide infrastructure and cloud engineering teams through architecture reviews, knowledge sharing, and reinforcement of technical best practices. - Collaborate across cloud, infrastructure, network, database, security, operations, and development teams to ensure integrated and scalable solution delivery. - Evaluate technical solutions and provide recommendations that balance scalability, operational supportability, resilience, security, performance, and cost. - Identify technical debt, operational risks, resilience gaps, and architectural dependencies and communicate mitigation recommendations effectively. - Contribute to continuous improvement of architecture standards, documentation practices, implementation methodologies, and customer technology roadmaps. - Maintain awareness of emerging infrastructure, cloud, database, backup, and disaster recovery technologies and recommend practical improvements where appropriate. Salary Range The anticipated base salary range for this role is $120,000–$150,000 per year. This range represents a good-faith estimate of the base compensation we expect to pay for this role at the time of hire. Actual base salary within this range will be determined based on job-related factors, including skills, level of experience, geographic work location, and any required licenses or certifications, in accordance with applicable law.
