Head of Global Payroll
Angi
Role Description Angi is looking for a Head of Global Payroll to lead and scale our payroll operations across the U.S. and internationally. This is a highly visible leadership role within the Accounting organization responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll for a large, complex workforce operating across multiple compensation structures and jurisdictions. - Own payroll operations for approximately 1,600 U.S. & Canadian employees, including a significant population of hourly employees earning commissions, overtime, and other variable compensation. - Oversee payroll operations across France, the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands through external providers. - Support the monthly close process and maintain strong payroll controls in a public company environment. - Partner closely with Accounting, Finance, HR Benefits, and HRIS while leading a payroll team responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll at scale. Qualifications - 12+ years of payroll experience, including leadership experience within a public company or similarly complex environment. - Experience managing payroll for large employee populations with variable compensation structures. - Experience managing the payroll implications of equity awards across federal, state and foreign jurisdictions, including taxation, withholding, and reporting obligations. - Extensive experience with UKG is required. - Strong knowledge of multi-state U.S. payroll regulations. - Working knowledge of Canadian & European payroll requirements. - Experience leading and developing payroll teams. - Experience supporting month-end close and partnering with accounting teams. - Strong internal controls mindset and familiarity with SOX environments. - Highly detail-oriented, responsive, and deadline-driven. - Strong collaborator with the proven ability to partner effectively across Accounting, Finance, and HR. Requirements - Lead end-to-end payroll processing for 1,600 U.S. & Canadian employees, including hourly employees with commission-based and overtime compensation structures. - Ensure payroll is processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with federal, state, and international payroll regulations. - Serve as Angi’s internal payroll subject matter expert, resolving complex payroll questions and ensuring compliance across jurisdictions. - Manage and develop a team of four payroll professionals. - Coordinate with payroll providers across France, UK, Germany, and the Netherlands. - Support month-end close, including payroll accrual calculations, balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll flux analysis. - Identify opportunities to improve processes & automate to allow the payroll function to operate at scale. • Working closely with Via’s external payroll partner, drive the monthly payroll process for Via in Germany. • Understand German tax requirements, changes in wage and tax laws, and other regulatory changes and requirements that may impact payroll. • Perform periodic audits of our payroll data to ensure accuracy of employee pay information. • Ensure benefit deductions and tax withholdings are calculated and reported timely and accurately. • Lead all aspects of the monthly financial reporting process as it relates to payroll, such as preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts. • Serve as the main point-of-contact for employees on questions relating to pay. • Perform ad-hoc projects and other assignments as needed to support the broader team. • Exercise the highest degree of confidentiality regarding all payroll information and employee privacy initiatives.
