Senior Manager, Product Design – Core Experience

• Lead and develop a team of Product Designers by providing coaching, mentorship, performance feedback, and clear direction while fostering an inclusive, high-performing team culture. • Partner with Product, Engineering, Research, Data Science, and business stakeholders to shape product strategy, influence roadmap priorities, and align teams around customer and business outcomes. • Guide the design and delivery of intuitive, cohesive customer experiences by helping teams navigate ambiguity, frame complex problems, and translate strategy into high-quality product solutions. • Champion design excellence by elevating product thinking, interaction design, systems thinking, and customer-centered decision-making while continuously improving design processes, planning, critiques, and collaboration. • Drive operational excellence by using data, customer insights, AI-powered capabilities, and emerging technologies to improve decision-making, increase team efficiency, and strengthen the overall product development process.
• Build high-fidelity interactive prototypes that help teams explore product concepts, validate user experiences, and communicate design direction. • Develop reusable components, technical tooling, and shared capabilities that improve consistency, scalability, and efficiency across Product Design. • Partner closely with Product Designers and Engineers throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure design intent is translated into thoughtful, high-quality implementation. • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, AI capabilities, automation, and modern development practices that improve design workflows and expand what's possible for the team. • Champion technical excellence by documenting best practices, mentoring teammates, and driving adoption of new tools and workflows that elevate design quality and execution.
• Develop scalable reporting solutions and dashboards that provide timely, actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership. • Lead initiatives that improve marketing measurement, automation, and data infrastructure to enable faster, more scalable decision-making. • Drive analytics that identify performance trends, uncover growth opportunities, and deliver actionable recommendations that inform marketing investment decisions. • Partner across Marketing, Finance, Data Science, and Analytics to influence strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting. • Leverage AI-powered tools alongside SQL, BI platforms, and modern analytics technologies to automate workflows, accelerate insight generation, and improve team productivity.
Role Description As a Platform Engineer, you will contribute to building and improving Stitch Fix’s cloud-native infrastructure and internal developer tooling. You’ll work on tools and automation that help product engineers deploy, operate, and debug services more easily, while learning modern platform engineering practices alongside experienced teammates. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy improving developer experience and want to grow their skills in cloud infrastructure and CI/CD systems. - Contribute to the development and evolution of our internal platform-as-a-service used by application and service developers - Build and maintain tooling that improves developer workflows, deployment reliability, and day-to-day productivity - Collaborate with platform and application engineers to identify friction points and implement incremental improvements - Learn and apply best practices around Infrastructure-as-Code, containerized workloads, and CI/CD pipelines - Use, or are eager to adopt, AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, and are excited to help explore and integrate LLM-powered solutions that automate internal support and operational workflows - Have opportunities to propose ideas and improvements, with support and mentorship from the team Things you’ll get exposure to (and we don’t expect experience with everything): - AWS - Terraform, Pulumi - CircleCI - Docker, ECS, EKS - Ruby, Golang, Python Qualifications - 2+ years of software development and infrastructure experience with significant contributions - Experience with AWS or other cloud-based providers - Experience with container orchestration, CI/CD, or production observability (deep expertise not required) - Enjoys debugging systems, understanding how things work, and improving reliability over time - Ability to break down problems and implement solutions with guidance - Strong developer empathy and care about improving the developer experience Benefits - Competitive salary - Medical, dental, vision, and other benefits Company Description Stitch Fix is redefining retail by combining human creativity with advanced data science and Generative AI. • Own and evolve critical catalog systems, including product onboarding, attribute management, data enrichment, validation workflows, and product readiness tooling. • Design and operate scalable services and data models that ensure product information is accurate, complete, consistent, and available to downstream systems. • Drive discovery with Product, Merchandising, Data Science, and Operations partners to identify high-impact problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and define clear technical roadmaps. • Independently lead initiatives from concept through production rollout, including technical design, implementation, launch, and measurement of outcomes. • Improve catalog data quality by building systems that detect, prevent, and resolve incomplete, inaccurate, or inconsistent product information. • Ensure catalog workflows support efficient merchandising operations and help teams prepare products for sale at scale. • Mentor engineers through code reviews, architecture discussions, technical feedback, and shared ownership of engineering standards. • Instrument, monitor, and tune systems for reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners to align technical solutions with business needs and operational workflows.
• Own a specific portion of the business within the Women's Knits and Sweaters Tops category with a focus on Market brands, developing and executing merchandising and financial strategies to maximize departmental opportunities. • Curate and drive seasonal line plans and product assortments across market and private brands, presenting strategies to leadership and cross-functional partners to gain alignment. • Analyze sales data, inventory levels, and client feedback on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to responsibly manage the open-to-buy budget alongside Planning partners. • Manage the vendor matrix strategically, negotiating terms, contracts, and pricing with suppliers to optimize profitability, product quality, and timely delivery. • Conduct continuous market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, spot risks, and uncover new opportunities appropriate for Stitch Fix clients.
