Role Description An AI-first product designer who ships. This role partners with product and engineering to design, prototype, and validate workflow-driven AI experiences across our enterprise products. You work close to the code — prototyping in Cursor, Claude, and Figma Make — and use the Harmony Design System as your foundation. You are growing into strategic UX thinking: framing problems, questioning requirements, and proposing direction, not just executing tickets. Core Responsibilities - AI-first interaction design: Design embedded, workflow-driven AI experiences — not bolted-on chat. Apply established guardrails (explainability, progressive disclosure, human-in-the-loop) from the Dela AI Holistic Framework and NN/g principles to concrete product surfaces. - Vibecoded prototyping: Build working, high-fidelity prototypes using Cursor, Claude, GitHub, and Railway. Translate ideas into executable UX that engineers can pull from directly, rather than static mockups that require re-interpretation. Fluency with modern AI coding tools is core to the role, not a bonus. - Design system fluency: Use the Harmony Design System as the default starting point. Contribute patterns and components back, flag gaps, and help keep design intent aligned with implemented UI across Figma, GitHub, and Railway. - Research participation and synthesis: Actively participate in usability testing, ProjectCon UX Labs, and validation sessions. Synthesize findings into concrete design changes and backlog-ready recommendations. Develop the instinct for which research questions matter most. - Strategic thinking in practice: Go beyond "make the screen." Ask why the workflow exists, who it serves, and whether the framing is right. Bring a point of view to design reviews and capability specs. Escalate when a requirement conflicts with good UX outcomes, and propose alternatives grounded in research and systems thinking. - Fusion-team collaboration: Work as an embedded member of a product + engineering + UX fusion team. Contribute to capability specs and acceptance criteria, and participate in AI-assisted build/verify cycles alongside engineers. Qualifications - 3–6 years designing digital products, ideally with exposure to B2B, enterprise, or data-dense domains. - Demonstrated use of AI coding and prototyping tools (Cursor, Claude, Figma Make, or equivalents) in real product work — not just exploration. - Comfortable working in and contributing to a mature design system. - Early evidence of strategic thinking: reframing problems, questioning scope, and shaping direction — not only executing handoffs. - Collaborative, research-curious, and comfortable working close to engineering. Benefits - Deltek is committed to the protection and promotion of your privacy. - We collect, store and use information about you (“Personal Data”) to administer and evaluate your application. - We are the “controller” of the Personal Data you provide us and will process any such Personal Data in accordance with applicable law. - We have not sold and do not sell Personal Data you provide to us through the job application process. Company Description Deltek Product Strategy is a team with a passion for delivering solutions to power success for project-based businesses. We use research and innovation to build products and experiences that connect processes across the entire project lifecycle. We are thought leaders who have a deep understanding of our customers, their industries and the challenges they face.
