Structural Engineer
MS Technology, Inc.
• Support structural engineering and multi-disciplinary design projects during the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects • Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications related to seismic and wind analyses, foundation design, structural framing analyses and design, and bracing analyses and design • Perform structural analysis utilizing hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to evaluate structures • Perform shell analysis activities, including glovebox shell analysis or similar structural shell evaluations • Support the development and review of engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements • Conduct construction document reviews, field verifications, and facility walkdowns as required • Coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines, project teams, and customer stakeholders • Provide engineering support during construction activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and technical evaluations as needed • Organize and execute assigned work efficiently within project schedules and deadlines • Perform all work under quality assurance requirements in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory standards • Maintain accurate technical documentation and communicate project status updates to project leadership • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and professionalism in all work activities • Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- BS in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- Minimum of three (3) years of related structural engineering experience
- Experience with structural analysis and design and a strong understanding of applicable engineering codes and standards
- Experience preparing and reviewing engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Experience utilizing structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro or GTSTRUDL
- Experience performing shell analysis, including glovebox shell analysis or similar structural shell evaluations, preferred
- Strong technical communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a part-time support role
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and to maintain US security clearance is preferred
- Experience in DOE/NNSA or commercial nuclear industries preferred
- PE License, with ability to obtain licensure in Tennessee, preferred
