Role Description Labcorp is seeking a Director, HR AI Solutions & Architecture who combines strategic thinking with hands-on engineering expertise to lead the integration of AI solutions within the Human Resources function. This role will be pivotal in shaping the future of HR technology, managing AI-driven HR strategies, identifying high-impact AI use cases, designing innovative solutions, and building intelligent systems that transform employee experiences and enhance workforce effectiveness and operational efficiency. A key part of the role will be leveraging IBM watsonx solutions to deliver scalable, ethical, and impactful AI applications. You will work closely with HR leaders, technology partners, and vendors to orchestrate an agentic AI layer and integrate with enterprise platforms such as Workday and ServiceNow, establishing a strong product feedback loop, influencing strategy while delivering cutting-edge AI tools that drive efficiency, personalization, and automation across HR processes. Work Schedule: - This is a full‑time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone. - Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible. - Applicants who live within 35 miles of either the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule, including a minimum of three in-office days per week at an assigned location. Qualifications - Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field. - 10 or more years experience of a proven track record leading digital transformation projects. - 2 or more years experience of delivering solutions integrating AI capabilities with enterprise systems, preferably in HR or related domains. Requirements - Understanding of software engineering languages such as Python, SQL, JavaScript (Node.js, React), and cloud-native development (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) and LLM platforms (IBM watsonx, OpenAI, etc.). - Knowledge of prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, agent memory, and MCP (model context protocol). - Familiarity in building RAG pipelines, vector stores, embedding workflows, and observability/debugging tools. - Strong understanding of API design (including REST and SOAP), OAuth, authentication, integration patterns, microservices architecture, and data engineering. - Building and deploying enterprise AI assistants, conversational interfaces, agentic systems, or business workflow automation. - Building and maintaining Agentic solutions using agentic frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, ADK, MCP, CrewAI or equivalent. - Develop and optimize LLM-powered skills, prompt templates, retrieval chains, and agent memory systems. - Building secure REST APIs, authentication flows (OAuth), and system integrations. - Implementing automation logic, workflow triggers, and other business automation features. - HR domain knowledge and familiarity with HR processes with background in enterprise SaaS integrations and HR technology platforms (Workday, ServiceNow, LMS, etc.). - Strategic thinker with the ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on technical execution. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams. - Passion for innovation and ethical AI practices.
