Human Relations Agent
Ungava Tulattavik Health Center
• Assesses service users' needs related to cultural safety and the maintenance of family/social ties • Participates in individualized intervention plans (IIPs) for service users • Works in collaboration with resource staff and Northern practitioners • Acts as a liaison between Northern and Southern resources according to clients' needs • Attends interdisciplinary meetings, case discussions and various committees • Engages and works alongside Northern practitioners to organize and provide support during visits • Builds bridges with local and Northern community organizations • Facilitates participation in traditional activities • Communicates information about culturally adapted practices • Performs other related duties
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, psychoeducation, sexology or criminology
- Registered member in good standing of the appropriate professional regulatory body
- Minimum two years' experience supporting clients with intellectual disabilities (ID), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), physical disabilities (PD) and loss of autonomy
- Experience working in Nunavik required
- Knowledge of Inuit culture and values
- Bilingual in English and French required, both oral and written; knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset
- Ability to work collaboratively with various community stakeholders
- Ability to travel to different southern host resources
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Must hold a valid driver's license
