Protection & Control Technician Manager
Spark Power ⚡
• Manage and lead the Protection & Control and SCADA commissioning team • Experience testing and commissioning high voltage power systems equipment including but not limited to: Power transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, protection relays and SCADA systems • Read and interpret engineering drawings and troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. • Familiarity with different types of protection relays from GE, SEL, Siemens, and ABB. • Familiarity with different electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, power analyzers, Omicron, Doble, Megger, and more • Train and develop employees to latest industry and client standards • Develop commissioning execution test plans and work procedures • Ensure compliance with all Spark, client and industry safety practices • Initiate and/or respond to customer inquiries, discuss trouble details and confirm resolutions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or an Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized institute
- 5+ years' experience leading a commissioning team in the electrical utilities industry
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an extreme attention to detail are essential
- Knowledge of the Microsoft office software suite of programs coupled with strong computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously
- Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work for extended periods out of town
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Background checks and Drug and Alcohol Pre-Access Testing will be required as part of employment
