Application Sales Engineer – Pulp & Paper
ANDRITZ
• Develops relationships with paper mill customer base to identify Andritz sales opportunities • Conducts paper machine audits and service calls to assist customers with innovated sales applications • Ensures customer needs are clearly defined and addressed in a timely manner. • Conducts paper machine optimization, shutdown inspections, and prepares onsite reports. • Optimize operating efficiencies for customers utilizing proprietary modeling software programs • Troubleshoots customer problems and provides and/or helps implement appropriate solutions • Mitigates warranty exposure through early detection and prevention of potential problems • Assists paper mills to set up proper records and complete value results platforms • Helps the local team build and maintain comprehensive databases on customer paper machine clothing and/or roll covers, and/or bowed rolls and/or mechanical specifications, installations and product life information. • Conducts “Rezolve - press optimization studies” of area paper machines to enhance paper machine productivity and increase Andritz sales • Searches out and recommends new machine clothing, and/or roll cover, and/or bowed roll applications • Communicates field activity, including sales opportunities, inter-company items, and competitive issues to the appropriate Sales Manager. • Prepares monthly summary to the Regional Sales Manager outlining highlights of the previous month, a forecast of the requirements of the following month, areas of opportunity in the field, plant issues, and competitive issues/gossip • Manages an expense budget to maintain and grow business.
Job Requirements
- Degree preferred in Engineering or Business and/or extensive maintenance, production or sales experience within the paper or other related applicable industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven relationship builder
- Paper mill aptitude
- Strong entrepreneurial drive
- Strong computer skills including solid understanding of Word, Excel and general database management
- Some travel required within the assigned region

• Build and grow an existing book of business that is made up of active customers, inactive customers, and prospects throughout Central Pennsylvania and Western Maryland territories. • Develop new and existing customer relationships and strengthen industry partnerships with face-to-face customer interactions. • Identify new customers through sales tools, research, and networking opportunities. • Operate as a liaison between Sales, Marketing, and Management to align strategies aimed at increasing overall revenue. • Negotiate and close business deals that promote sustained revenue through both face to face and virtual sales calls. • Strengthen supplier relationships through lead generation, supplier training, and joint customer visits. • Develop and coordinate relationships with GreasePoint industry focused divisions to enhance the overall brand. • Attend meetings, sales events, and trainings to stay up to date on all company initiatives. • Continually meet or exceed established sales targets with a defined growth path within the company.
• Own the Technical Side of the Sales Process • Partner closely with Account Executives to support opportunities from early discovery through close • Lead technical discovery conversations to understand customer goals, constraints, and success criteria • Conduct live product demonstrations and tailored technical presentations to showcase Spokeo’s offerings • Act as the primary technical point of contact for prospects during the evaluation process • Design and deliver tailored product demonstrations aligned to customer use cases and business outcomes • Clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives • Address security, architecture, and integration questions with confidence and clarity • Recommend and design solutions that meet customer requirements while aligning with product capabilities • Support or lead proofs-of-concept (POC) to validate technical fit and demonstrate value • Contribute to technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires • Provide technical guidance that accelerates deal velocity and improves win rates • Enable sales teams with product knowledge, use cases, and competitive positioning • Share field feedback with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap and improvements
