Role Description The Fiber Designer 1 plays a key role in the planning and design of fiber optic networks, ensuring the efficient and effective deployment of telecommunications infrastructure. Your role involves: - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements. - Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software for detailed layouts. - Keeping abreast of industry standards to ensure compliance in fiber network design. - Providing essential support to construction and installation teams during project implementation. • Assist in Production of Low Voltage System (ICT, Security, A/V) Engineering Deliverables (75%) • Support the production of BIM / CAD deliverables including Revit models and AutoCAD drawings to meet the design requirements of the project • Perform intermediate design tasks under a senior engineer’s supervision • Provide project delivery support to the project team, including electronic document and BIM model management as required to facilitate project submissions and completion of deliverables • Work collaboratively with other technical trade leads (MEP, BAS, EPMS, ICT) to ensure multi-discipline coordination • Successfully complete assigned BIM / CAD production work within the budget and deadlines as outlined by the project team • Assist in Pre-Construction Activities (10%) • Survey existing building conditions and prepare technical reports of findings • Collect data and other information for construction documents • Prepare project design and construction documents • Basic editing and writing of project specifications • Assist in Construction Activities (15%) • Work as part of the engineering team and interact closely with the project management team • Review shop drawings and submittals • Review and respond to RFIs • Review and complete punch lists and project close out documents • Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders • Update and maintain shop drawing and RFI log • Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget
