Geospatial Solution Architect

• Design and deliver integrated GIS solutions across enterprise applications, APIs, and data platforms • Develop full-stack custom geospatial applications and services where needed • Architect and implement spatial data flows, integrations, and pipelines across systems • Select and apply appropriate technologies based on solution needs • Produce clear, implementation-ready solution designs and technical documentation • Lead technical delivery, provide design oversight, and mentor team members • Implement secure, scalable, and reliable solution architectures • Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines and testing practices • Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to platform and architectural evolution • Identify and remediate technical debt while ensuring continuity of service • AI is a key enabler in this role, practical experience applying AI is critical.

Job Requirements

  • University graduation in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in geospatial platform architecture.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in software development & engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in spatial data pipelines & integration.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in SDLC & DevOps automation.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in technical leadership & cross-team coordination.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in production support & service operations.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in security, reliability & disaster recovery.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in AI-enabled operations.

Role Description FEDITC is seeking a Data Center Engineer / Technical Integration Lead, PACAF NIPR Non-Core Server (Computer) to work remote from Hawaii. A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position. The Data Center Engineer / Technical Integration Lead is responsible for executing and coordinating Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPR) non-core server (compute) completion activities across five Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) installations: Hickam, Misawa, Osan, Kunsan, and Diego Garcia. This role combines hands-on engineering execution with technical planning, documentation, and coordination support to ensure successful deployment, configuration, and operational readiness of data center infrastructure. The position works in close coordination with the Program Manager to ensure all technical activities are properly planned, documented, and aligned with government requirements. Responsibilities - Data Center Engineering & Implementation - Perform data center engineering activities supporting NIPR non-core compute completion across designated PACAF bases. - Execute hardware and software configuration of server infrastructure, virtualization platforms, and supporting systems. - Support installation, integration, and validation of compute environments in accordance with mission and security requirements. - Technical Planning & Coordination - Attend all required technical and programmatic meetings. - Identify, document, and communicate required planning steps for execution to the Program Manager. - Provide clear, actionable technical input to support scheduling, deployment sequencing, and risk mitigation. - Network Architecture Definition & Documentation - Develop, validate, and document detailed network architecture, including: - Nexus switch port configurations - VLAN assignments - IP addressing schema, including: - Out-of-Band (OOB) / Integrated Lights-Out (ILO) IP addresses for ESXi hosts - ESXi management IP addresses - vMotion IP addresses (as applicable) - Virtualization & System Configuration - Configure and document VMware-based environments, including: - ESXi host configuration: - Hostnames - Management settings - vCenter configuration: - Hostname - Deployment and integration settings - Virtual Distributed Switch (VDS) configuration: - Uplinks for ESXi hosts - Teaming and failover policies - Port group configuration - Credential & Access Management Documentation - Document system access details for all deployed infrastructure, including: - Hostnames mapped to assigned credentials - ESXi root credentials - vCenter root credentials - vCenter Single Sign-On (SSO) local administrator credentials - ILO/OOB access credentials (if configured) - Ensure secure handling and transmission of all credential-related information in accordance with applicable policies. - Version Control & Compliance - Ensure and document compliance with required software baselines: - Bare metal firmware versions - ESXi host versions (minimum version ≥ 9.0) - vCenter versions (minimum version ≥ 9.0) - Maintain version control records and configuration baselines for all deployed systems. - Infrastructure Documentation & Diagrams - Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including: - Rack elevation diagrams - Cable matrix documentation - Logical and physical architecture diagrams - Configuration documentation sufficient to support operations and sustainment - System Configuration & Boot Architecture - Define and document ESXi boot configurations, including: - SAN-based boot - Onboard/local storage boot - Ensure alignment with performance, resiliency, and mission requirements. - Program Management Interface - Provide all technical inputs, planning data, and documentation to the Program Manager. - Support the Program Manager in preparing materials required for government coordination. - Ensure all engineering outputs are complete, accurate, and aligned with contractual requirements. - The Program Manager retains responsibility for: - All communications with the Government - Scheduling of on-site work - Delivery coordination of products and services - Procurement activities - Submission of diagrams and required deliverables - All formal Government interactions Qualifications - Active DoD Secret clearance is required. - Must be a United States Citizen and pass a background check. - Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
