Office of Suicide Prevention, Veterans Crisis Line

Role Description The Incumbent serves as a Supervisory Program Coordinator within the Office of Mental Health Suicide Prevention, Veterans Crisis Line (VCL) located in the Clinical Operations Team. They perform management and program work including but not limited to: - Planning - Training - Scheduling - Education - Implementation - Evaluation - Staff appraisal - Monitoring adherence to VHA regulations, policies and procedures - Program guidelines set by external regulatory agencies The major duties of this position include but are not limited to: - Develops and implements solutions to work problems presented by subordinates. - Performs safety reviews and provides information through written and/or verbal reports. - Provides advice, counsel or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. - Responsible for continuous program oversight of both personnel and equipment failure that may inhibit the successful operation. - Assists in developing detailed plans, goals and objectives for the day to day operation. - Utilizes analytical data reports to help determine short and long-range scheduling or staffing requirements. - Implements changes to work schedules, as needed, to ensure appropriate coverage of all business lines including phones, chat and text. - Develops and implements Standard Operating Procedures for the department. - Uses skills and is proficient in applying clinical principles, concepts and techniques crucial to patient care. - Monitors adherence to VHA regulations, policies and procedures and program guidelines set by external regulatory agencies such as the American Association of Suicidology (AAS). - Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications - To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 05/11/2026. - Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. - Individual Occupational Requirement: Must possess one of the following: - Degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED) - Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED) - Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. As the first Program Manager, Academy at GC AI, you will define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for GC AI's award-winning educational program and growth engine, the GC AI Academy.
