Manager, Data Science

Hotel Engine

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Data Scientists, providing technical guidance and supporting their professional development. • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of ML models—from data exploration and prototyping to deployment and monitoring. • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to translate complex business problems into actionable data science projects. • Maintain high standards for code quality, documentation, and model validation; conduct rigorous peer reviews. • Lead the design and analysis of A/B tests and experimentation frameworks to measure the impact of new features. • Work with Data Engineering to ensure our data pipelines and infrastructure support high-velocity model iteration. • Communicate technical results to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring data insights drive day-to-day business decisions.

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Data Science, with at least 1–2 years in a formal or informal leadership role (e.g., Lead Data Scientist or People Manager).
  • Deep expertise in machine learning, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Experience in B2B, marketplace, travel, or e-commerce industries is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to 'bridge the gap' between technical execution and business value.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a quantitative field (CS, Stats, Math, Physics) is a plus.

Role Description Empower AI is AI for government.
