Human Resources Associate – Relations Partner

Upstream Rehabilitation

• Serve as a primary Associate Relations partner, advising leaders on performance management, corrective action, policy interpretation, and employee concerns. • Coach and counsel leaders on effective associate management practices, including performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions. • Investigate and resolve moderately to highly complex associate relations matters (e.g., performance issues, policy violations, harassment, discrimination), recommending appropriate and compliant courses of action. • Partner closely with HR Business Partners, operational leaders, and legal counsel to ensure consistent, fair, and legally sound outcomes. • Provide guidance on federal and state employment laws, helping leaders navigate compliance with confidence. • Support a safe, respectful, and compliant workplace by promoting best practices, confidentiality, and adherence to company policies. • Contribute to associate relations training, policy updates, and continuous improvement initiatives as needed. • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 2 years focused on Associate Relations.
  • Strong working knowledge of employee relations, performance management, corrective action, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and advise leaders on complex associate relations issues using sound judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to assess risk, analyze situations, and provide clear, practical recommendations aligned with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism when handling sensitive matters.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar business tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, as business needs require.
