Job Description

Traveling Security Field Engineer – Electronic, Integrated Security

JCI

• Act as an on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete Electronic Security projects with assigned customers in a safe and cost effective manner. • Performs or delegates tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including: system programming, integration, installation coordination, system and network commissioning and project closeout • Develops project plans and coordinates the required resources to ensure timely and cost effective installation and completion of assigned projects. • Provides work direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administration as necessary • Completes typical installation of hardware design and software programming using established standards as required. • Manages and completes the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as required. • Validates complete system functionality and resolves issues with subcontractors and others to ensure proper operation. • Provides accurate project as-built and commissioning documentation • Provides coaching, mentoring and technical assistance to Security Technicians, Electrical Installers, System Designers, Subcontractors, and other less experienced team members. • Ensures work performed is in compliance with state, local and Federal legal requirements, and ensures Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors adhere to all safety standards. • Assists with the selection, ordering, budget and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned via our web-based tool process • Effectively communicates the status of projects to management as required and assists with monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin. • Performs site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system in full or with assistance. • Ensures owner/operator has been trained. • Provides proper documentation and manuals for system operation. • Adheres to safety standards, local and national security and fire codes, with a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of field experience in the commercial or industrial Electronic Security industry
  • Technical, hands-on experience with systems design, commissioning and/or programming of Electronic Security Systems
  • The ability to communicate technical material to a nontechnical audience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and general windows environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances as needed (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check)

Role Description PE Labellers is looking for a new Field Service Technician to join their Service team. In this role, you will provide technical support to customers throughout the life of a machine. You will: - Travel to customers’ locations to install, start-up, maintain, troubleshoot labeling machines. - Train customers’ operators and technicians on set-up, operation, change-over and maintenance of the systems. - Work with the customer to ensure they have the parts required to expeditiously repair any ongoing issue as well as have adequate stock of spare components. - Prepare and submit detailed trip reports for the customer and company that identify problem(s) encountered, actions taken to resolve the problem(s), and recommended next steps to fully satisfy the customer’s service need. - Provide technical assistance to customer both over the phone and via remote connection. Qualifications - Associates Degree in related technical field (mechanical and electrical) or 6 years related/equivalent experience in the packaging industry. - 3+ years in custom machine manufacturing or mechanical repair/maintenance. - Excellent knowledge of mechanical/electrical technical applications, specifically PLC’s, servo driven motors and controls. - Ability to read & understand complex engineering designs, including wiring schematics. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Experience with Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel. - Good interpersonal and organizational skills. - Good problem solving skills and independent judgment. - Able to travel 85% of the time and work overtime as required. - Ability to work independently, maintain a positive attitude and work well with all levels of management and operators.
