Quality Assurance Engineer II

Role Description Lead the testing of large-scale systems, create test plans, test cases, and drive continuous improvements to the quality assurance processes using Internet and Web technologies including: - Apache - HTTP - XML - HTML - Load Balancing - DNS Develop tests using Java and Shell Scripts in a Linux environment, document and coordinate the deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems, and test mobile device development kits and device frameworks. Responsibilities include: - Design and build automated test cases for mobile device-based graphical user interfaces using test automation frameworks such as VNC Robot and Java. - Design, develop, and execute quality assurance test cases and support tests for large-scale, distributed software systems using Java, including white and black box tests. - Work closely with engineers, business owners, and customer service professionals throughout the development and testing lifecycle, including requirements gathering and design. - Consult with and advise project management and development teams on technical issues related to planning, developing, implementing, and modifying testing procedures. - Use functional specifications to plan, create, or sign-off on test plans, test cases, and automated test cases. - Provide regular, detailed status reports on project progress, including test cases executed, bugs discovered, and bugs fixed. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. - One year of experience in the job offered, or as a Programmer/Analyst, Quality Assurance Engineer, Software Test Developer, or a related occupation. - Employer will accept three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Bachelor's degree and one year of experience. - One year of experience in developing tests for large-scale software systems using Java or Shell Scripts in a Windows, UNIX, or Linux environment. - One year of experience in documenting and coordinating the deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems. Requirements - 100% telecommuting permitted; work may be performed from anywhere in the U.S. Benefits - 40 hours/week, 8:00am-5:00pm. - Salary Range: $113,900/year to $160,000/year. - Amazon is a total compensation company; dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package. - A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
