Senior Analyst, Process, Controls & Compliance

Covetrus

• Perform balance sheet reconciliation assessments and reviews for all Covetrus entities globally • Perform reviews to assess processes, controls, and segregation of duties and provide value added feedback to drive process standardization and optimization • Participate in cross functional business initiatives and special projects and provide guidance on efficient processes and controls, best practices, and risk management • Perform risk-based operational audits to identify and communicate opportunities to improve processes and internal controls • Provide management with guidance to influence change • Communicate audit results, clearly and concisely • Partner with management to develop efficient and effective corrective action plans and influence improvements to the company’s internal controls • Follow up on the status of corrective action plans and test management’s remediation efforts • Work with external auditors to facilitate audit processes, respond to audit queries, address audit findings, provide necessary information on controls, or explain procedures • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure collaboration in audits or projects • Participate in the risk assessment process • Maintain controls framework and related narratives or flowcharts

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related field
  • CPA required
  • Big 4 Public Accounting experience would be a plus
  • 5+ years of professional experience with at least 2 years of experience in internal controls/SOX, accounting, or audit related fields
  • 2+ years of audit experience (in a public company, an international organization, or Public Accounting firm)
  • Knowledge of basic audit standards and processes, Sarbanes Oxley, and COSO
  • Knowledge of internal controls, systems, and risk management processes
  • Ability to quickly develop a deep understanding of end-to-end business processes and data flows and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the company’s risks, controls, and governance processes
  • Ability to perform control reviews in line with professional standards
  • System implementation experience and/or business transformation would be a plus
  • Experience in process mapping and documentation
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): AML/CFT Compliance: - - Support the execution of AML/CFT program requirements, including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and suspicious activity reporting processes. - Assist in the preparation and timely submission of regulatory AML reports (e.g., AML Risk Assessment, FIU/LE responses, AML Questionnaires). - Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of AML/CFT policies, procedures, and controls in line with AMLD and local regulatory requirements. - Support SAR/STR preparation and filing processes, ensuring quality and completeness of documentation. - Assist with KYC/CDD/EDD quality assurance reviews and escalations as needed. Compliance Monitoring and Testing: - - Execute compliance monitoring and testing activities in accordance with the Compliance Monitoring Plan (CMP) and risk-based methodology. - Perform periodic control testing to assess the effectiveness of compliance controls across business processes and regulatory obligations. - Document testing results, identify control gaps or deficiencies, and track remediation actions to closure. - Collaborate with the Central Compliance Testing & Assurance team to ensure appropriate second line coverage and alignment on testing standards. - Prepare monitoring and testing reports, including findings, root cause analysis, and recommendations for management and governance bodies. - Support the development and refinement of testing scripts, methodologies, and tools to enhance the efficiency and coverage of monitoring activities. - Assist in the execution of targeted reviews or deep dives in response to emerging risks, regulatory changes, or incidents.
