Role Description As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you will embed directly within brokerage operations functions to systematically eliminate manual work and replace it with durable, auditable software systems. You start by immersing yourself in operational workflows: observing, documenting, and deeply understanding processes end-to-end before designing solutions. Every recurring manual process is treated as a system defect, and every fix you ship is measured by its real-world impact on efficiency and reliability. You will work closely with licensed brokerage staff, domain experts, and platform engineers to build automations and tooling that allow Alpaca's operations to scale globally without scaling headcount linearly. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable shadowing an operational process and architecting the backend service that replaces it. Things You Get To Do - Design, build, test, deploy, and monitor production automations and UIs that remove manual steps and reduce operation time. - Partner with frontend engineers to productize ops tooling so global teams can run functions with predictable staffing. - Execute operational procedures to surface painful manual processes prior to automation. - Instrument and report baseline and outcome metrics (MTTC, manual-steps removed, queue sizes, ops satisfaction) and iterate based on measured impact. - Produce Platform Opportunity Briefs / RFCs for higher-level platform tooling and automations. - Collaborate with licensed BD leadership, Compliance, and Security to build auditable, safe automations with role-based access and clear runbooks. - Own the full lifecycle of the systems you build, including automated deployment (CI/CD with tools like ArgoCD and Terraform), proactive monitoring, On-call support rotations and incident response, following a "you build it, you run it" philosophy. - Build systems with auditability, traceability, and data lineage as a first-class concern to ensure transparency for our auditors and regulators. Qualifications - 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of shipping and operating complex, large-scale systems in production. - Strong business sense and understanding of operations. - Deep, hands-on expertise in Golang, including a strong command of its concurrency models (goroutines, channels), memory management, and standard library. - Proven track record of building user-facing features end-to-end with Typescript/React. - Proficient with SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL. - Demonstrated ability to reason about human workflows as systems, not just software services. - Experience with observability, tracing, continuous profiling. - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deconstruct complex requirements into clear technical components and excellent communication skills for working in a cross-functional environment. - High ownership mindset with bias toward durable, structural fixes over tactical patches. • Design and evolve our cloud architecture on GCP - networking, interconnects, IAM and high-availability topology - and express it entirely as code with Terraform, following GitOps as a first principle. • Build and own the CI/CD pipelines that plan, review, test and safely apply IaC changes - Policy-as-Code guardrails, drift detection and progressive rollout so infrastructure changes ship as confidently as application code. • Advance Platform-as-a-Product: build self-serve capabilities and paved paths so engineers can provision what they need, through a golden path rather than a hand-off. • Strengthen our observability stack - metrics, logs, traces and alerting across Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Loki, Tempo and Alertmanager - so the platform is easy to run and reason about. • Operate our GKE clusters and the infrastructure services that run on them - Helm-packaged workloads, message brokers (RabbitMQ, IBM MQ) and data stores. • Participate in our Follow-The-Sun on-call model: watch and triage alerts, join and declare incidents, lead structured debugging and escalation, and drive blameless post-mortems and the post-actions that actually close the loop. • Embed SRE practices - SLIs/SLOs and error budgets, capacity planning - into how Core Infrastructure builds and operates, working closely with our SRE function.

• Supervise and review and file FOCUS reports (Form X-17A-5) with FINRA and the SEC, typically monthly or quarterly. • Monitor net capital levels to ensure the firm maintains the required minimum net capital at all times. • Ensure timely filing of financial statements and supplemental reports, including annual audited financials. • Oversee financial books and records, including general ledger, trial balance, and subsidiary ledgers. • Interpret and apply SEC and FINRA rules, particularly SEC Rule 15c3-1 (Net Capital Rule) and 15c3-3 (Customer Protection). • Ensure compliance with Rule 17a-3 and 17a-4 (recordkeeping requirements). • Respond to regulatory inquiries and exams by FINRA, SEC, or other regulatory bodies. • Design and maintain adequate internal controls to safeguard customer and firm assets. • Supervise systems to prevent and detect errors or fraud in financial reporting. • Oversee clearing and settlement processes, especially for self-clearing or carrying firms. • Monitor cash and securities movements to ensure compliance with custody rules. • Coordinate the annual independent audit of the firm’s financials. • Advise management on capital adequacy, financing strategies, and the financial impact of new business initiatives.

• Primary owner and processor for distributions (dividends, interest, etc), reorganizations (reverse splits, mergers, etc.), and redemptions (maturities, calls, etc). • Review and validate corporate action event details with rigorous attention to accuracy before posting to customer accounts, minimizing risk of errors and potential firm exposure. • Interface daily with external vendors and custodians (DTC, OCC, BNY, ICE) to confirm accuracy of event and allocation details. • Balance and reconcile all corporate actions booked versus the corresponding suspense and wash accounts. Ensure the corporate action house accounts are balanced daily. • Research breaks and open items to ensure they do not become aged. • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for corporate actions for internal departments and external partners. • Respond to corporate action related Zendesk tickets and handle voluntary corporate action requests. • Enhance and iterate on procedures to incorporate new tasks, asset classes, and other processes. • Assist on automation of daily self-clearing processes collaborating with engineering • Stay curious! Learn other areas in the clearing space to assist in downtime.

Role Description We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Specialist to help support our team members with IT-related tasks and help ensure the Security of our organization. The IT Team is 100% distributed and remote. This role will report directly to the IT Support Lead. • Provide technical support and relationship management for existing enterprise customers in Japan (e.g., SBI), acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the partner lifecycle. • Partner with the Sales and Solutions teams on pre-sales technical discussions, solution design, and API consultations, and present compelling product and technical use cases to prospective clients. • Guide new enterprise customers through API integration, implementation, and onboarding. • Act as the voice of Japanese customers by collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to improve localized experiences; translate complex business and technical requirements (often originating in Japanese) into clear specifications for Alpaca's global engineering team. • Serve as the product and technical subject matter expert, capable of thoroughly understanding and articulating all aspects of the Alpaca platform to diverse audiences and stakeholders. • Work closely with local compliance and operations teams to understand local and regional product requirements (e.g., JFSA rules, NISA, local post-trade / settlement practices for US and JP securities). • Own technical sales engagement end-to-end: discovery calls, solution validation, RFPs, and security questionnaires that win deals; lead demo strategy and execution. • Create sales support materials and documentation for new features and products, including Japanese-language collateral where needed. • Coordinate in Japanese with local regulators, vendors, and partners, and relay those requirements to global product and engineering. • Help customers successfully adopt Alpaca's platform while maintaining a high standard of technical and customer support; travel within Japan / APAC as needed. • Stay updated on internal product development timelines and work closely with the product team to test and roll out new features to partners.

• Own the full sales cycle from outbound prospecting through contract negotiation and close • Build and manage a healthy pipeline through outbound outreach, referrals, conferences, strategic partnerships, networking, and inbound opportunities • Drive new revenue growth for Alpaca's institutional Broker API business across the United States • Develop relationships with key decision makers at fintechs, broker-dealers, RIAs, wealth managers, banks, and other financial institutions • Understand each prospect's business objectives and technical requirements to position Alpaca's solutions effectively • Deliver compelling product demonstrations, business presentations, and commercial proposals • Collaborate closely with Solutions Engineering, Product, Integrations, Marketing, Customer Success, and Legal to move opportunities efficiently through the sales process • Maintain accurate pipeline data, forecasts, and account activity within Salesforce (or CRM) • Continuously refine sales messaging based on market feedback, customer insights, and competitive intelligence • Represent Alpaca at industry conferences, customer meetings, and networking events

• Design highly scalable, mission-critical brokerage systems for the Japan market. • Develop and enhance the middle- and back-office systems, including gRPC microservices, REST and gRPC APIs, and third-party vendor integrations specific to the Japan market (e.g. JPX, JSCC, JASDEC, banks, identity verification vendors). • Work closely with Alpaca's core teams to enhance and transform the core framework, enabling support for multiple languages, currencies, and markets, with a particular focus on Japan-specific requirements such as NISA, MyNumber, withholding tax, and JP-GAAP accounting. • Collaborate with tech leads in other regions both synchronously and asynchronously, primarily through Slack and meetings, to align with global teams. • Coordinate in Japanese with local regulators, vendors, partners, and business stakeholders, and translate those requirements into technical specifications for the global engineering team. • Troubleshoot incidents and reported bugs to maintain system integrity and performance. • Participate in on-call rotations and assist with timely engineering projects and production issues during Japan business hours. • Thrive in a global environment, effectively navigating regulatory requirements and building scalable solutions to support Alpaca's expansion in Japan.
