• Serve as the voice of Operations in enterprise software system projects • Partner with Manufacturing Operations, Quality, and IT to enhance manufacturing business systems • Perform MES modeling and configuration activities • Support Mendix-based applications including requirements gathering and functional design documentation • Collaborate with IT and development teams to clarify requirements and support activities • Assist with troubleshooting production issues • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
- 2-5 years related experience or Master’s degree and 0-2 years
- Experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
- Demonstrated ability to gather and document business requirements
- Experience creating process maps and flowcharts
- Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
- Experience supporting or working with low-code platforms, preferably Mendix

Role Description Fennemore is looking for a full-time REMOTE Systems Engineer I to join our growing firm. The Systems Engineer is responsible for the administration, reliability, and performance of the firm’s core technology systems, including network infrastructure, cloud services, and applications. This role owns system operations and performance, understands how systems, data, and applications interact, and maintains deep knowledge of assigned systems while independently resolving complex issues and contributing to projects that improve stability and efficiency. Systems are maintained in alignment with firm security standards. As a Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will be: - Administers core systems: network infrastructure, cloud services, applications, identity, and Windows environments - Monitors system health and resolves system, application, and infrastructure issues, including Help Desk escalations - Performs system administration (Windows Server, AD/Entra ID, patching, updates, access controls, vulnerability remediation with Security) - Supports platform services (M365, endpoint management, backup, recovery, monitoring) - Supports implementation, integration, and maintenance of technology solutions - Utilizes scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell) to improve efficiency and consistency - Manages certificates and encryption configurations across systems and applications - Supports remote access and connectivity (virtual desktop, ZTNA) - Supports email and collaboration platforms (mail flow, routing, policy management, security) - Supports infrastructure platforms (networking, compute, storage) based on team alignment - Participates in system and application projects (deployments, upgrades, enhancements) - Ensures system performance and availability across all offices - Maintains configurations, standards, security practices, and documentation - Collaborates with IT team members and stakeholders - May be aligned to Applications or Infrastructure teams As part of our commitment to collaboration and excellence, this role requires flexibility in daily work schedules during periods of high workload, adherence to departmental and Firm goals and policies, and performance of other duties as assigned to support the success of the department and organization. • Develop end-to-end tactical network architectures integrating RF, SATCOM, and IP transport • Define architecture frameworks aligned to DoDAF and Army network modernization strategies • Lead design of multi-domain, multi-transport communications systems (LOS, BLOS, SATCOM, 5G, etc.) • Ensure interoperability across: Army tactical systems • Joint and coalition networks • Commercial and cloud-based services • Guide technology insertion and modernization efforts • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend integration into program baselines • Lead architectural reviews and technical decision boards • Provide subject matter expertise on: RF propagation, link budgets, and waveform selection • SATCOM system design and integration • Network scalability, resiliency, and survivability • Develop architecture artifacts, roadmaps, and technical strategies • Mentor engineers and provide technical direction across programs
• Provide end-to-end systems engineering support for complex DoW tactical communications systems • Lead systems engineering activities across the lifecycle (requirements, design, integration, test, fielding, sustainment) • Translate Operational Needs Statements (ONS), Capability Production Documents (CPD), and stakeholder requirements into technical solutions • Develop and maintain system architectures aligned to Army tactical network baselines (e.g., WIN-T, T2C2, NGC2 evolution) • Ensure integration of RF, SATCOM, and IP-based transport systems into unified architectures • Support engineering working groups, IPTs, and technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) • Conduct interoperability assessments across joint, coalition, and commercial interfaces • Provide technical oversight of lab integration, field testing, and technology insertion efforts • Develop technical documentation (CONOPS, architecture diagrams, interface control documents, test plans/reports) • Support system-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and operational assessments • Interface with Government stakeholders, PMs, and industry partners
