Job Description
Head of Growth
QuestDB
Role Description We're hiring our first Head of Growth to own the top of the funnel end-to-end: from open-source adoption and developer community, through pipeline generation for our enterprise sales motion, to our presence at the industry events where our buyers actually live. This is a builder role, not a manager-of-managers. You'll partner directly with the CEO, the founding team, our sales leads in EMEA and the US, and our developer relations lead to turn QuestDB's product-market fit into repeatable, compounding pipeline. What You'll Own - Open-source growth: - GitHub stars, Docker pulls, Slack community, documentation engagement, conversion from OSS user to commercial conversation. - Treat the OSS funnel as a product and instrument it accordingly. - Pipeline generation: - Own the top-of-funnel number alongside our sales leads. - Build and scale inbound, outbound, and ABM motions against our core ICP: capital markets (banks, hedge funds, market makers, exchanges), crypto, and energy firms. - Increase fit in defense/aerospace and robotics. - Need qualified meetings with quant engineers, heads of trading tech, data platform leads, and CTOs. - Events, conferences, and industry presence: - Own QuestDB's calendar at the events that matter - TradingTech Summit, STAC, Quant Strats, Digital Assets Week, and adjacent capital markets forums. - Run customer panels, analyst roundtables, targeted dinners, and sponsored tracks. - Build relationships with industry media and analysts. - Make QuestDB unavoidable in our category. - SEO, agentic referrals, and analytics: - Drive organic traffic through traditional SEO and position QuestDB to win in LLM-based discovery. - Build the analytics stack to measure the funnel end-to-end: source -> OSS adoption -> SQL -> closed-won. - Leverage through agentic platforms: - Be fluent with Claude, Cursor, custom MCP integrations, and workflow automation. - Expect growth ops - enrichment, outbound sequencing, content generation, competitive research - to run at 10x the headcount of a traditional growth team. Qualifications - Relevant experience in growth, marketing, or developer relations at a B2B infrastructure or developer-tools company, or from a commercial role in capital markets or crypto with deep domain expertise and a buyer network. - Track record of scaling an open-source or bottom-up developer community into enterprise revenue. - Ability to credibly engage with technical buyers - CTOs, quant engineers, heads of trading tech. - Analytical chops - comfortable in SQL, fluent in attribution, allergic to vanity metrics. - Native fluency with agentic AI tooling - you automate by default. - Comfort with ambiguity and small teams. This is a zero-to-one role. Strong Pluses - Experience at a commercial OSS company. - Existing network in trading technology or quantitative finance. - Technical fluency - acquired through any path: formal training, engineering experience, self-taught coding, open-source contributions, or time spent close to technical teams. Benefits - Generous equity options package. - Flexible working hours. - 100% remote. - Freedom of choice for your technical equipment. - Truly international team: 10+ nationalities. - Transparent, collaborative, and inclusive culture. - Exciting opportunities for career progression as we grow. - High autonomy - you set your own pace in a collaborative environment. How to Apply In your application, include a short note on why this role and one specific growth experiment you'd run in your first 90 days at QuestDB. We'll read the 90-day plan first.
