SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER - FPGA Video & Networking Systems THE ROLE: Join AMD's Pro AV, Broadcast, and Consumer Business Unit as a customer‑facing Systems Architect, where you will help shape how next‑generation audio‑video systems are built, deployed, and scaled around the world. In this role, you will operate at the intersection of FPGA‑based system architecture, customer engagement, outbound technical marketing, and internal product planning. You'll work closely with customers, sales teams, distribution partners, and internal engineering groups to translate real‑world video and networking challenges into scalable system solutions and future AMD silicon and IP capabilities. This is a fast‑paced, highly visible role within a small, expert team that directly influences product direction, customer adoption, and AMD's leadership in media, entertainment, and video infrastructure markets. THE PERSON: You are a systems thinker who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys balancing technical depth with big‑picture decision‑making. You are comfortable switching context frequently - engaging with customers, collaborating with sales teams, influencing internal roadmaps, and presenting technical concepts clearly to varied audiences. You bring confidence in your technical judgment, can independently prioritize competing demands, and are comfortable making architectural trade‑offs that balance customer needs, scalability, and business impact. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Primary objective: Grow AMD's traditional FPGA and SoC business in the Pro AV / Broadcast & Consumer business unit. - Architect and propose solutions that meet the customer's technical and commercial requirements - Competitive analysis to ensure that we are competitively positioned. - Convert customer feedback to drive AMD's technology roadmap for silicon, software, and IP (intellectual property). Influence product planning so that the needs of the business unit are met. - Business development activities to increase AMD's share at the customer - Outbound marketing. Create collateral for consumption by sales and customers. Create demos for sales and customers to emphasize product technology leadership. - Identify, engage, and grow ecosystem partners to scale business - Work very closely with the worldwide sales teams (internal and external) - Some travel is to be expected to increase engagement with sales, customers, and in support of strategic tradeshows - Identify new vertical markets to expand into. Market analysis, market research, market-based solution proposals - Project management, create SoW, define MRD, and engage with external partners to develop custom solutions. - Applying Machine Learning to the products being designed by our customers. Understanding of industry trends, models, and implementation aspects that will benefit our customers. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: - Experience with video systems in Broadcast, Pro AV, or media infrastructure environments - Knowledge of audio‑video transport over Ethernet or IP networks - Hands‑on exposure to FPGA‑based or SoC‑based system architecture - Familiarity with embedded systems and Linux‑based environments at a system level - Experience engaging with customers, sales teams, or partners in a technical role - Ability to create and present technical collateral for customer and field consumption - Background as a Field Applications Engineer, Applications Engineer, Systems Engineer, or customer‑side engineer is a plus ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
