Role Description Fairchild Equipment, Inc. is seeking a stable, hard-working, dependable and motivated Material Handling associate for our Green Bay, Wisconsin branch. This position requires you to receive deliveries and move product within the facility. In addition, this position is essential to ensure our inventory stock remains accurate and organized. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Material Handler - Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products. - Verify accuracy of deliveries and outgoing loads. - Move materials between loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and service areas. - Identify and label materials, and record their locations in the warehouse to maintain inventory. - Prepare products for shipment by identifying their location, then pulling, packing, and loading them. - Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines. - Maintain accuracy within all product inventories under the direct responsibility of the department. - Dock Worker - Using safe lifting techniques. - Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment in the loading and unloading of freight. - Load product onto designated trailers per schedules. - Maintain accuracy of bills of loading for all loaded product. - Follow SOP for the receiving, staging, loading and documentation for all load schedules. - Sort, label, and organize freight. - Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment used. Qualifications - High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. - Certification to operate lift truck preferred. - Experience working in a warehouse setting or in logistics preferred. Requirements - Ability to follow instructions and work independently with little guidance. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Ability to organize, multi-task, and meet deadlines. - Basic to moderate computer skills. - Adapt and work in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to work overtime and have flexibility to accommodate the needs of the position. Physical Requirements - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly moving objects. - Frequent physical activity of the position: - Stooping - bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. - Kneeling - bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. - Crouching - bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. - Reaching - extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. - Standing - remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time. - Walking - moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. - Pushing - using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward. - Pulling - using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. - Lifting - raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. - Grasping - applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm. - Talking - expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. - Hearing - perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication. - Occasional physical activity of the position: - Climbing - ascending or descending. - Balancing - maintaining body equilibrium. - Fingering - perceiving attributes of objects by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. - The visual acuity requirements: - The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or equipment. - The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts. - The conditions the worker will be submitted to in this position: - The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin; fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. - The worker is subject to extreme heat: Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. - The worker is subject to extreme cold: Temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. - The worker is occasionally required to function in narrow aisles or passageways. - The worker may be subject to oils: there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
