WHAT YOU'LL DO - Solution Architecture & Design - Lead end-to-end architecture and solution design across Workday HCM and Financials, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and business strategy. - Translate complex business requirements into scalable Workday designs (configuration, business processes, reporting approach, and integration patterns). - Define and maintain architecture roadmaps, reference architectures, and design patterns that enable consistent delivery and reduce technical debt. - Security & Identity Architecture - Define and govern Workday security architecture, including role frameworks, domain/business process security, and least-privilege access models. - Partner with IAM and Security teams to ensure SSO, identity lifecycle (joiner/mover/leaver), and access reviews are correctly integrated and auditable. - Establish and enforce segregation-of-duties (SoD) principles and controls; support audit evidence and remediation activities related to Workday access and process controls. - Integration & Data Strategy - Architect and oversee integrations and data flows between Workday and connected enterprise platforms (e.g., IAM, payroll, finance, CRM, ITSM, data warehouse). - Set standards for integration reliability (monitoring, error handling, reconciliation, and recovery) and ensure integrations remain supportable through releases. - Define data governance patterns for Workday extracts/feeds, including secure handling of sensitive data (PII/financial data) and alignment with enterprise analytics standards. - Release, Environment & Change Governance - Own or co-own Workday tenant strategy (prod/sandbox/preview), migration approach, and controls for configuration promotion to production. - Lead bi-annual Workday release impact assessments and coordinate technical readiness (regression/integration testing strategy, cutover validation, and stabilization). - Establish change governance for Workday platform changes, including standards for documentation, approvals, and operational handoff. - Platform Leadership & Optimization - Serve as the technical authority for Workday platform decisions; provide architectural oversight across projects, enhancements, and incident/problem remediation. - Drive platform optimization efforts (performance, configuration rationalization, data quality, and reliability improvements). - Evaluate new Workday features, modules, and capabilities; recommend adoption strategies and roadmap enhancements based on business value and risk. - Stakeholder Engagement & Delivery Leadership - Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and cross-functional leaders to align priorities, scope solutions, and communicate trade-offs and risks. - Guide and mentor Workday engineers, administrators, and analysts; promote consistent engineering practices, testing discipline, and knowledge sharing. - Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure high-quality delivery and adherence to architecture and security standards. Qualifications - 7+ years of hands-on Workday experience with strong expertise in both HCM and Financials. - Proven experience architecting Workday solutions in complex enterprise environments, including security, business processes, integrations, and reporting patterns. - Deep understanding of Workday security model, business process framework, and integration technologies (e.g., EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, PECI). - Experience with Workday release management, tenant strategy, and platform governance. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide cross-functional teams. - Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience). - Typically requires five or more years of progressive experience in enterprise applications, architecture, or platform engineering roles, including Workday. - Architecture & design: ability to define patterns, standards, and roadmaps that scale. - Security & compliance: least privilege, access governance, SoD, audit readiness, and data protection. - Integration & data: API/integration patterns, monitoring/reliability, and secure data delivery to downstream platforms. - Communication: able to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders. - Leadership: mentoring, decision facilitation, and cross-team coordination in project and operational contexts. Preferred Qualifications - Workday certifications in HCM, Financials, Integrations, or Architecture. - Experience with large-scale Workday implementations, multi-phase rollouts, or post-merger harmonization. - Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and integration middleware/API-based patterns. Compensation 100,000 USD - 135,000 USD Benefits - Health, dental, and vision coverage as of hire - Immediate enrollment in 401(k), HSA, and FSA plans - Flexible PTO policy - Tuition and personal enrichment reimbursement - Option to enroll in ID Theft Protection Program Company Description At Fortra, we’re breaking the attack chain.
