Role Description Stitch Fix is seeking a client focused, product obsessed and data driven Associate Buyer to join our dynamic Merchandising team. As an Associate Buyer, you will be responsible for owning a portion of the business within a specific divisional product category as an individual contributor. You're excited about this opportunity because you will… - Regularly analyze the business and execute actions based on learnings, involving calculated risks and bold decision-making. - Navigate ambiguity and solve problems independently by leveraging available resources, data, and cross-functional partners to drive the business forward. - Proactively identify risks and gaps in the business and take ownership of resolving them, even when the path forward is not clearly defined. - Manage and optimize a high-SKU, complex assortment, balancing breadth, depth, and productivity across multiple brands and categories. - Develop sound financial and product strategies aimed at meeting financial targets, delighting our clients and evolving our assortment. - Own curating and creating assortments from all brand partners. - Present strategies and assortments to leadership and cross-functional partners to gain alignment. - Participate in ongoing competitive market analysis, identifying product gaps and white space opportunities that are appropriate for Stitch Fix. - Build and maintain strong partnerships with cross-functional team members and a wide range of vendor partners. - Work with Planning counterparts to actively and responsibly manage open-to-buy budgets. Qualifications - You possess 3-5 years of relevant experience in Buying or Merchandising, demonstrated expertise in managing product assortments for both multi-branded retailers and vertical retail environments, driving sales, profitability, and inventory optimization. - You are proficient in Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Slides) with a strong ability to adapt to and quickly learn new tech tools and software to enhance workflow and productivity. - You are highly resourceful and self-directed, with a track record of solving ambiguous problems without relying on step-by-step guidance. - You have experience managing a complex business and can prioritize effectively without losing sight of the bigger picture. - You always think about the client first and drive assortment decisions that properly weigh risk versus opportunity. - You are product obsessed and adept at spotting and reacting to trends. - You can evolve and modernize an assortment while staying grounded in the needs of the core client and business drivers. - You thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and have demonstrated the ability to create clarity, structure, and forward momentum amid ambiguity. - You take full ownership of your business, proactively addressing challenges and driving solutions. - You are an excellent negotiator and build relationships that are rooted in trust and partnership. - You have strong oral and written communication skills and can clearly articulate your strategy to others. - Ability to travel approximately 25–30% of the time. Compensation and Benefits This role will receive a competitive salary and benefits. The salary for US-based employees hired into this role will be aligned with the range below, which includes our three geographic areas. A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, location, and performance. In addition, the position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and other benefits. Salary Range: $61,900 — $103,000 USD
