Job Description

Senior Manager, Pharmacy Procurement, Inventory Operations

OpenLoop

• Set strategy and priorities for pharmacy procurement and inventory across all locations • Solve large-scale, ambiguous operational and supply chain challenges • Align and manage priorities across pharmacy procurement operations, i.e. finance, compliance, RFP process, vendor management • Stand up and scale a centralized procurement and inventory function • Assess current processes and implement standardized, scalable workflows, governance, and accountability • Lead NetSuite inventory module implementation and transition from manual to system-based operations • Define system requirements to improve scalability and visibility • Develop sourcing strategies for APIs and consumables, rationalize suppliers, standardize contracts, and build redundancy for high-risk materials • Establish inventory control process (lot tracking, expiration, demand planning) • Ensure compliance with FDA and Board of Pharmacy requirements and maintain audit-ready documentation • Build operational playbooks, including performance metrics for all roles and areas • Lead and develop site-level teams, coach managers and ICs, and drive adoption of processes and systems • Supervise, lead and coach small team of procurement support staff • Travel 20% for onsite meetings

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-7 years in pharmacy procurement / supply chain operations
  • Within that experience, at least 3+ years experience in compounding pharmacy operations / medications
  • 503A and/or 503B compounding pharmacy experience
  • Highly familiar and well versed in API sourcing with a focus on end-to-end traceability and audit compliance
  • Hands-on involvement in ERP system implementations, such as NetSuite or comparable platforms
  • Demonstrated success overseeing multiple pharmacy locations and leading diverse teams
  • Proven track record of designing and optimizing processes, including establishing SLAs, policies, and scalable workflows
  • Ability to operate independently while contributing at both strategic and day-to-day operational levels
  • Skilled at navigating ambiguous environments and bringing clarity through structured approaches
  • Experience collaborating across functions and engaging stakeholders at various organizational levels
  • Strong background in mentoring and developing senior-level team members

Role Description As an Analyst - Sourcing, you will be responsible for researching, analyzing and evaluating marketplace data of vendors, manufacturers and suppliers and in providing business appropriate recommendations based on this analysis. You will manage a supply chain for goods or materials that ensure high material availability at the lowest possible total ownership cost to client operations. You will act as the primary contact to current and potential outside suppliers.
