Job Description: As a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for managing pre-sales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. The Pre-Sales Engineer will work with Territory Managers to qualify opportunities and convert leads into successful engagements. Incumbents must know how to gather the client data required to effectively tailor a solution. Responsibilities: - Manage account and partner responsibilities for selected accounts in assigned territory. - Provide the optimum combination of hardware, software, and services to meet complex customer needs. - Play a role in the development of the bid, proposal, and presentation of the solution to the prospect. - Provide specific solutions/technology/product/technical and sales support for accounts in assigned territory. - Deliver technical presentations to customers, partners, and potential prospects. - Manage channel partners to help drive business and deliver demand generation events. - Develop account relationships over time to continue to deliver advice to the customer and identify additional opportunities; maintain and manage a sales pipeline and forecasts against regional goals. - Possess competitive knowledge including solution, technology, and product offerings. - Provide consultative support to key internal/external stakeholders in assigned territory. - Use in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs. - Prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions. - Create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions. - Build a proof of concept based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client. - Provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation. Responsibilities: - Pre-sales engineering network design, radio frequency passive and/or active planning, bill of material creation, sales opportunity engagement, and technical training, individually or in larger group settings - Identifying and driving the development of a territory account plan based on awareness of the business economics and trends of the industries, including vertical markets - Have a working knowledge of RUCKUS Networks wireless, wired and software solutions - Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and partners with the ability to differentiate and competitively position RUCKUS solutions - Assist the Territory and Partner Account Manager(s) in driving revenue and selling solutions to achieve quota goals Qualifications: “Required qualifications for consideration:” - Undergraduate or graduate degree (BS/BA minimum) in Electrical engineering; Networking Engineering, Information Technology; Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent proven work-related experience - Minimum 5 years pre-sales or equivalent experience working with routers, switches, and Wi-Fi technologies - A professional or associate-level networking industry certification such as CCNA, BPIPA, JNCIA, Cisco, Aruba, RUCKUS, CWNA, etc. is preferred - Strong ability to support and manage the process of troubleshooting complex problems - Highly effective technical presentation skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Excellent troubleshooting skills Requirements: “You will excite us if you have:” - A proficient understanding of pre-sales engineering, technical sales processes, and critical account management - Ability to communicate both written and oral technical solutions to a variety of audiences that include executive-level decision-makers - Advanced understanding of partner business drivers and how to map these to a customer network environment, including identification of improvement areas in network design - Working knowledge of networking technical skills; specifically, 802.11 Wi-Fi technology evolution releases (Wi-Fi 5, 6, 7), best practices design and assessment, predictive heat map creation, wireless troubleshooting, wireless network optimization, IP routing and switching WAN/LAN design, setup and configuration, Layer 4-7 application services, security authentication methods and products, SASE, SD-WAN, RADIUS, AD, Virtualization environments/deployments, VM installations, (any of VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V, GCE, Azure, AWS), secure device/user onboarding solutions, etc. DevOps/REST or other common API programming knowledge a plus - General knowledge of the following areas of specialization: Cloud services (SaaS); VLAN; security; VoIP; QoS wired/wireless; BYOD/MDM; P2P; mesh; wireless controller architectures; Wi-Fi protocols and transmission, RF design, indoor and outdoor wireless deployments; packet capture/analysis tools; and WLAN security - Working knowledge of wi-fi design tools such as Ekahau Survey/AI Pro, Hamina Network Planner, etc. What Happens After You Apply: Learn how to prepare yourself for the next steps in our hiring process by visiting https://jobs.vistancenetworks.com/content/How-We-Hire/?locale=en_US Why Join Us?
