SAP ABAP Developer

PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic SAP S/4HANA ABAP Developer to design, development, and optimization of custom SAP applications. This role involves overseeing technical teams, ensuring best practices in ABAP development, and driving successful implementations and migrations within SAP S/4HANA environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop and maintain custom ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEF). - Develop ABAP objects required for integration: IDocs, ABAP proxies, custom APIs, OData services. - Evaluate new SAP integration capabilities such as RAP, CDS-based extractors, Event Mesh, and SAP Integration Suite. - Optimize system performance through code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning. - Work with BOOMI/Other middleware teams to align interface specifications. - Participate in end-to-end implementation and support projects. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing jobs, IDOC Monitoring, system logs, inbound/outbound interfaces and Dumps. - Support system cutovers, migrations, and integration test cycles. - Document technical specifications and development activities. - Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members. REQUIRED SKILLS: - Expertise in RICEFW development. - Proficiency in ABAP Objects, Enhancements, BADIs, and User Exits. - Experience with CDS Views, AMDPs, OData services, and RAP for S/4HANA. - Experience with SAP interface frameworks (SOAP/REST APIs, Proxy, IDoc, RFC). - Good understanding of SAP modules such as MM, SD, FI, and BRIM. - Hands-on experience with SPAU and SPAD during SAP upgrades. - Familiarity with debugging and performance analysis tools. - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. - Experience with SAP HANA database and its interaction with ABAP. - Proficient in SAP Web IDE, Eclipse IDE, and other relevant development tools. QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor / Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, or equivalent discipline - 5 to 7 years of experience in SAP ABAP development Desirable: - SAP S/4 HANA certification in ABAP. WORK ENVIRONMENT FACTORS - Office based/Remote with occasional international travel. - Health and Safety accountability statements. - Working times are European time zone, however open to be available in APAC/US time zone as well for the need basis.
