Keller Executive Search is seeking a dynamic Software Development Manager to lead a talented engineering team dedicated to advancing AI-driven software products in the defense sector. In this role, you will oversee software development projects from conception through deployment, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet stringent regulatory and performance standards. Job Requirements
- Essential
- 5+ years of software development experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
- Strong background in full software development lifecycle management in regulated industries such as defense, aerospace, or similar sectors
- Experience managing teams of software engineers and coordinating cross-functional projects
- Proficiency with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Familiarity with programming languages commonly used in AI and embedded systems (e.g., Python, C++, Java)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment focused on mission-critical products
- Preferred
- Experience working within defense or government contracting environments
- Knowledge of AI, computer vision, or autonomous systems development
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- Understanding of compliance requirements such as ITAR and cybersecurity standards
- Experience with distributed or international engineering teams
