Job Description As a compactor technician, you will play a vital role in the maintenance and repair of compactors and balers used for waste management, big box store and multi-tenant facilities Your expertise will ensure that these machines are operating efficiently and effectively, helping to reduce waste and protect the environment. This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to diagnose and repair trash compactors, including electrical and hydraulic components. This role can also include site repairs such as bailers, tarps and chutes. When there isn’t enough sitework, you may be asked to work in the shop on assembling power units or other mechanical or welding tasks. The standard hours are 6:00-3:30 with overtime and on-call required. This is a REMOTE opportunity, you will not be required to report to an office but will be dispatched to calls from your home. Below is a list of Job Responsibilities, we will train candidates with electrical experience. Responsibilities - Ability to diagnose and identify issues with compactors quickly and accurately - Ability to weld - Proficiency in using tools for diagnostics, repairs and maintenance - Understanding of the principles behind compactor operations and ability to troubleshoot - The ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical tasks associate with mechanical repairs - Stamina to handle physically demanding aspects of the job - Ability to keep accurate records of repairs, parts used, maintenance activities and time spent on job - Provide detailed reports of the machine prior to and after the repairs are completed - Creative problem-solving skills to address unique and complex issues that may arise during repairs - Analytical thinking to assess the root cause of the repair needs - Clean and lubricate compactors to prevent wear and tear - Electrical troubleshooting, utilize advanced electrical knowledge to identify, diagnose and repair issues to ensure effective operation of the equipment and minimize downtime - PLC experience – ability to interface with the program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers systems that are integral to keeping the equipment operational - Prior experience with limit switches, photo-eye sensors and/or solenoids are beneficial - Adherence to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a secure working environment - Knowledge of safety features in compactors and the ability to implement safety measures during repairs - Understanding the mechanical components of compactors and their functions - Proficiency in using tools for diagnostics, repairs and maintenance - Understanding of the principles behind compactor operations and ability to troubleshoot - Ability to diagnose and identify issues with compactors quickly and accurately - Proficiency in developing effective solution to resolve mechanical and electrical problems - Clear communication with customers, colleagues about the issues identified and the steps taken for repairs - Ability to explain technical details to individuals with varying levels of technical expertise - Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction with the repair service - Efficiently managing time to complete repairs with specific deadlines - Prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance - Noticing small details and anomalies that may be indicative of larger issues - Thoroughness in inspecting, repairing, and testing equipment - Flexibility in adapting to different types of machines; compactors, balers or chutes - Keeping up to date with industry advancements and new technologies - Train and mentor junior technicians in compactor maintenance and repair - Assemble power units while in the shop - Attend, or teach, training sessions with other technicians Qualifications - Must be 18 years of age - Valid Driver’s License - Experience as a compactor technician or similar role - Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and electrical components - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills - Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Flexibility to adapt to changing work environment and schedules - Willingness to learn new techniques and/or machines while keeping up with industry standards - Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor when representing the company - Upholding a high standard of ethics and integrity - Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures - Patience and ability to handle oneself in a professional manner in stressful situations - Ability to do minimal air travel during training phase Benefits: - 401(k) - 401(k) matching - Dental insurance - Health insurance - Life insurance - Paid time off - Retirement plan - Vision insurance Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is the front-line field service representative and is responsible for fulfilling the customer's expectations during field service activities. The FSE is experienced in JBT Marel equipment (or equivalent) and works independently, solving technical and/or technological issues for a standard product process. The FSE may mentor junior FSEs and provide basic training. Candidates need to reside in the Midwestern area of the United States. Main Tasks The FSE: - Ensures excellent performance of troubleshooting, repair, installation, maintenance, customer training and/or general support for JBT Marel machinery at customer facilities. Job Summary The Field Application Engineer (FAE) will provide technical, hands-on expertise to support all business opportunities for Phoenix Contact products and applications directly associated with the protection, conversion, distribution, and monitoring of power circuits used within the industrial automation and electronics industry. The Field Application Engineer will collaborate with regional sales managers, strategic account managers, sales engineers, account development specialists, channel, and field application engineering teams, to utilize a consultative approach with all customers to support their individual needs and expand market penetration. This role plays a pivotal part in the development and expansion of all accounts, through power reliability sales growth and specifications. This position is an individual contributor role and does not include formal people management responsibilities. The territory for this role is Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina & Virginia. 50%+ overnight travel required. Responsibilities - Protection, conversion, distribution, and monitoring of power circuits at customer accounts.
