About the team As the engineering organization matures, the infrastructure teams are the key to Airwallex's ability to build a globally distributed platform, increase engineer productivity and ensure effective use of resources. Our team works to provide the best possible experience for our developers and customers while providing a safe and secure environment to ensure that our financial solutions are always available. What you'll do - Build the foundations of our new corporate network, and help design the team structure and size for the future - Maintain, design and deploy Airwallex's global cloud footprint, aligning network requirements to regional demands. - Design, implement, and maintain highly available and secure production network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, Cloud) across multiple global data centres and cloud regions. - Configure on-prem gateway/router/networking hardware globally, including mixed vendors in some locations - Manage global connectivity over international leased lines and domestic internet connections - Own the configuration and troubleshooting of complex network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud environments. - Act as a first-responder or escalation point for complex network issues, running an incident through to completion and after-action reports. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., CorpSec, ProdSec, Engineering, Product, IT Engineering, Workplace, etc.) to integrate network solutions and support business initiatives. - Work with IT Engineering, IT Support on troubleshooting network issues on endpoints, including basic IT operations support, building a core networking understanding among the team - Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures. - Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and solutions to stay ahead of our business growth - Participate in a global on-call rotation, providing primary response for production and infrastructure issues - Flexible scheduling (as needed) to support the business and team initiatives -- i.e. participate in pre-scheduled network upgrades, work to minimise business disruption Must haves - CCNP / JNCIP level experience showing a strong networking foundation - Demonstrated experience in a multi/mixed networking vendor environment (Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, Aruba, etc.) in a global company - Strong documentation habits and understanding of change control processes - AWS and/or GCP experience, solid experience with both is a plus. - Understanding of AI assisted workflows and use cases - Solid understanding of command-line configuration of networking hardware and vendors (JunOS, IOS, etc.) - Willingness to learn new technologies and skills - Strong understanding of core BGP and route filtering principals - Outcome oriented approach Nice to haves - Experience in working with greater technical team outside of networking - Ability to translate network technical to non-technical - Strong knowledge of Linux Distributions - Experience and understanding of scripting languages eg: python, bash - Event driven automation experience a plus - Comfortable with declarative infrastructure tools, eg: terraform, git ci/cd pipelines - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role - Strong, demonstrated written and verbal English communication skills, - Experience using and understanding of other cloud infrastructure (Aliyun, azure, etc.) - Experience working in all SaaS-based systems and applications - Ability to move fast and urgently, making correct decisions and assumptions - sometimes without all the information - Ability to assess the impact of changes and incidents and manage accordingly - Familiarity with elastic connectivity providers - Familiarity with datacentre provides, access and conduct requirements. - A builder mindset a strong plus - Experience with IPSEC VPN setup and troubleshooting - Experience with fintech, finance and adjacent high availability networks Applicant Safety Policy: Fraud and Third-Party Recruiters To protect you from recruitment scams, please be aware that Airwallex will not ask for bank details, sensitive ID numbers (i.e. passport), or any form of payment during the application or interview process.
