As a Lead Clinical Data Science Programmer at ICON, you will play a key role in designing and developing clinical data solutions, ensuring the efficient handling, analysis, and reporting of complex clinical trial data. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven insights that support the advancement of cutting-edge therapies and innovative clinical research. What You Will Do: Functional Expertise: - Demonstrate in-depth knowledge across two or more areas: - Clinical Data Management Systems (CDMS) - Data validation - Data ingestion and extraction - Risk-based analytics - Apply full understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies. - Support colleagues with complex clinical trial programming concepts and solutions. - Develop and maintain analytics solutions including cross-page visualizations and information models. - Write R and Python scripts as required. Business & Technical Delivery - Act as primary point of contact during study setup for system programming-related queries. - Independently review database specifications and program one or more CDMS/EDC systems. - Program medium-to-high complexity: - Data ingestion pipelines - CDMS solutions - Risk management outputs - Custom reports and analytics programs - Design and build eCRF screens per protocol specifications. - Perform data extracts and develop data transfer programs. - Communicate analytics requirements and technical solutions clearly to stakeholders. - Oversee complete SDLC for assigned programming deliverables. - Proactively identify and mitigate project risks; escalate issues impacting scope, timelines, or budget. - Ensure quality of deliverables through formal QC and validation processes. - Provide input to revenue forecasting and resource planning activities. Your Profile: - Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, biostatistics, data science, or a related field - 5+ years of relevant experience in clinical data science programming. - Strong experience with CDMS/EDC systems. - Experience in data ingestion, validation, analytics, and visualization tools. - Knowledge of R and Python scripting. - Understanding of clinical trial processes and regulatory environment.
