Application Engineer – Modernization

Carrier

• Technical interface between sales and project execution during design, bidding and execution phases • Support for proposal preparation through process engineering calculations and technical concepts • Preparation of project-specific technical documentation (e.g., functional descriptions, process descriptions, technical specifications) • Design and optimization of refrigeration and heating systems in the HVAC area, considering energetic and economic aspects • Analysis of existing systems including identification of weaknesses and development of appropriate optimization measures • Preparation of P&ID drawings and support in technical planning (CAD skills advantageous) • Development of energy-efficient and future-proof plant concepts within modernization projects • Establishment, maintenance and further development of a network of specialist subcontractors in the engineering area • Technical leadership of engineering subcontractors as well as active tracking of project progress and ensuring timely deliverables • Technical coordination with internal and external project stakeholders

Job Requirements

  • Degree in process engineering, building services/energy engineering, mechanical engineering or alternatively a certified technician/master in HVAC/refrigeration technology with relevant practical experience
  • Several years of professional experience in the design of refrigeration and heating systems in the HVAC environment
  • Sound knowledge of the hydraulics of piping systems (refrigeration and heating applications)
  • Experience in creating P&ID flow diagrams and working with CAD systems (desirable)
  • Ability to create 3D conceptual models (e.g., for visualization of plant layouts and system integration) using common CAD systems
  • Very good understanding of process engineering contexts and processes
  • Ability to conduct structured analysis of existing plants and derive technical optimization measures
  • Experience in preparing technical documentation and descriptions
  • Independent, structured working style and strong interface/coordination skills
