Platform Engineer – Cloud Platforms

CTG is seeking to fill a Platform Engineer – Cloud Platforms position for our client. Location: RemoteDuration: 2 years Duties: - Design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and highly available cloud platform services supporting engineering and analytics teams - Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions to enable consistent and repeatable cloud deployments - Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support automated application and platform delivery - Partner with application teams, data engineers, security, and enterprise architects to deliver standardized self-service infrastructure capabilities - Implement and enforce cloud best practices across identity and access management (IAM), networking, security, and compliance controls - Monitor platform health, performance, and cost efficiency; drive optimization initiatives across cloud resources - Design and implement observability solutions including logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting for production workloads - Support incident response, root cause analysis, and operational readiness activities - Continuously improve platform reliability, scalability, and developer experience through automation and standardization - Contribute to cloud governance, architectural standards, and platform roadmaps Skills: - Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) - Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates - Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) - Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) - Knowledge of networking, IAM, and cloud security best practices - Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor) - Strong automation and scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar) - Familiarity with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in complex distributed systems environments Experience: - Proven experience designing and operating cloud-native platforms in production environments - Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure and mission-critical workloads - Demonstrated experience with automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code practices - Experience collaborating across cross-functional engineering, security, and architecture teams Education: - Bachelor's Degree Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
