We're seeking creative, community-driven volunteers to lead social media, storytelling, and public engagement for our nonprofit. In this position, you will be responsible for all aspects of our marketing operations. Your central goal is to help grow our brand’s influence locally while also increasing brand loyalty and awareness. As our Marketing & Public Engagement Lead, you’ll be the voice and vibe of Essential across all platforms. From posting content that resonates with our community to creating partnerships that amplify our mission, you’ll help us shine in the digital and real-world space. Responsibilities - Design and oversee all aspects of our digital marketing department including our marketing database, email, and display advertising campaigns. - Develop and monitor campaign budgets. - Plan and manage our social media platforms. - Prepare accurate reports on our marketing campaign’s overall performance. - Coordinate with advertising and media experts to improve marketing results. - Identify the latest trends and technologies affecting our industry. - Evaluate important metrics that affect our website traffic, service quotas, and target audience. - Work with your team to brainstorm new and innovative growth strategies. - Oversee and manage all contests, giveaways, and other digital projects. Other Responsibilities - Manage our social media accounts (Instagram, Tiktok, LinkedIn, etc.). - Post daily updates: events, quotes, recaps, and community wins. - Design content that is visually appealing and emotionally resonant. - Interact with followers and grow our online presence. - Promote our events and encourage public attendance. - Create strategies to increase engagement and visibility. - Reach out to potential partners, organizations, and collaborators. - Attend events to capture content, network, and create buzz. Qualifications - Social media-savvy and love being online. - Experience using social media tools (Canva, Instagram Reels, etc.). - Confident communicator with a creative spark. - Proficient in the English language, verbal & written. - Self-motivated and consistent with posting schedules. - Non-judgmental and acceptance of the various values and beliefs of others. - Ability to work independently and in a team environment. - Comfortable networking and attending community events. - Passionate about youth, mental health, and Black excellence.
