QA Engineer

• Design test strategies and implement/execute test cases in collaboration with other team members • Build and maintain Cypress/Playwright tests. • Take ownership of projects, analyze process gaps and work actively towards building/aligning QA best practices. • Be a fast learner and strive towards becoming a product SME. • Closely track the regression cases with new releases, add regression cases and feature workflows to their document stack to keep it updated. • Partner with Engineering to ensure adequate automation coverage is implemented. • Collaborate with Product managers, Engineers, Customer care and DevOps to finalize requirements, identify real-time use cases and improve test effectiveness.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of QA experience with manual and automated testing of web-based applications, including experience with different kinds of testing like Integration testing, Black box testing, Security testing, Load testing, Regression testing etc.
  • Strong experience with manually testing web-based applications, thinking out of the box and finding bugs, has an analytical approach to troubleshooting and owns quality.
  • Hands-on experience with Cypress or Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript).
  • Strong understanding of Ruby (on Rails) codebases (comfortable reading and debugging).
  • Proficiency with testing tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, or similar, API Automation tools like Postman, Rest Assured etc, preferably in Java/Ruby.
  • Familiarity with modern web development technologies and frameworks, such as React, would be an asset.
  • Experience with Version control systems like GIT, Test management tools like Jira, Testrails, CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Got solid knowledge of and practice in a variety of technology spanning, languages (e.g., Ruby, Java), databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres), Operating systems (e.g., Mac, Windows, Solaris/Linux/AIX)
  • Experience leveraging AI tooling to improve quality and automation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and identify edge cases.
  • A proactive "shift left" mindset, focusing on early detection and prevention of defects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the Engineering and Product teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
  • Exposure to the Payments industry and/or PCI/DSS would be a strong asset.
