POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance team is responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of the NuScale quality assurance program (QAP), including supplier and internal oversight activities. The team is also responsible for reviewing the current QAP against new regulations, standards and quality requirements to determine steps necessary for compliance. An individual in this role provides subject matter expertise and leadership, including guidance, regarding compliance with applicable nuclear regulatory requirements as well as the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC). Frequent communications within the QA team as well as with other groups and departments as well as supplier, both written and verbal, is a key component of this role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develops, evaluates, and maintains NuScale quality assurance program processes including writing instructions, procedures, and other requirement and guidance documents for the quality assurance program. - Reviews QAPD and NQAM for continuing compliance to Codes and regulations, identifying opportunities for improvement. Also reviews Level 2 and higher NuScale procedures for compliance with the Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) and the Nuclear Quality Assurance Manual (NQAM). - Recommends and implements program improvements, enhancements and recommended changes. Thorough understanding of and extensive experience implementing nuclear quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines such as 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, NQA-1, and ASME BPVC Section III is required. Extensive commercial nuclear plant or non-reactor nuclear facility related experience is required.
