Role Summary The Junior IT Administrator supports daily IT operations, end-user systems, and identity management across the organization. This role focuses on providing first-line technical support, assisting with device and account management, and ensuring smooth onboarding and access to company systems. The position works under the guidance of senior IT staff and contributes to maintaining a secure, scalable, and reliable IT environment. Key Responsibilities End-User Systems & Device Management - Provision, configure, and maintain company laptops and desktops (Windows & macOS) - Support onboarding and offboarding processes (device setup, access, asset tracking, and shipment coordination) - Assist with endpoint management using MDM tools (JumpCloud) - Manage hardware inventory, including preparation, packaging, and coordination of device shipments to remote employees - Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and standard application issues IT Operations & Support - Provide L1 support through the Helpdesk ticketing system - Troubleshoot and resolve common IT issues (access, software, devices, connectivity) - Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 engineers as needed - Ensure timely communication and resolution for end users Identity & Access Management - Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts across systems (Microsoft 365, JumpCloud, Atlassian, etc.) - Assign and manage access based on defined policies - Assist with SSO and MFA setup and troubleshooting - Support user lifecycle management processes Cloud & SaaS Support - Assist in administration of cloud platforms (Azure and SaaS tools) - Support user-level operations and access troubleshooting - Help monitor system health and report issues to senior team members Security & Compliance - Follow IT security policies and best practices - Assist with patching, MFA enforcement, and endpoint compliance - Support incident response by gathering information and escalating issues - Participate in audit preparation and compliance tasks Documentation & Asset Management - Maintain and update IT documentation (runbooks, onboarding guides, procedures) - Track IT assets and maintain accurate inventory records - Follow established IT standards and processes Vendor & Team Collaboration - Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software support issues - Coordinate device shipments and returns with logistics providers and internal stakeholders - Collaborate with internal teams (HR, Finance, Engineering) for onboarding and IT needs - Continuously learn and improve technical skills with guidance from senior team members Required Qualifications - 1–3 years of experience in IT Support, Helpdesk, or Junior IT Administration - Basic experience with Windows and macOS administration - Familiarity with MDM tools (e.g., JumpCloud or similar) - Understanding of identity and access management concepts (SSO, MFA) - Experience with Microsoft 365 and common SaaS tools - Basic networking knowledge (DNS, VPN, Wi-Fi troubleshooting) - Strong troubleshooting and communication skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment - Must adhere to set internal controls Nice to Have - Exposure to Azure or other cloud platforms - Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) - Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) - Experience supporting remote or distributed teams Education - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (preferred) Additional Considerations - Role may involve handling, packaging, and preparing IT equipment for shipment and deployment - Ability to manage operational and hands-on IT tasks in a fast-paced environment - Primary working hours align with Pacific Time (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM PT), with flexibility required outside standard hours as needed - We are actively seeking candidates who reside in the following states: California, Washington, Idaho, Arizona, or Colorado Must be a US citizen/permanent resident of the US, and capable of obtaining a Government Security clearance if required and live and work from the US. Green card holders qualify, but H1B or other work visa holders do not qualify for this role. Salary range for the role is $60,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
