Configuration Engineer

• Lead and optimize quote configuration processes including RFQ/RFPs, SOWs, and technical drawings for aerospace and military customers • Ensure accuracy and completeness of product data in our existing PLM and ERP systems • Recommend and implement process improvements in quoting and configuration workflows • Utilize industry resources to identify suppliers, assess components, and monitor lifecycle and obsolescence • Manage supplier relationships • Select suppliers and obtain quotes for components, fabricated items, and PCBs based on strategic factors such as pricing, lead time, and reliability • Conduct technical analysis of customer requirements for new business opportunities • Review and interpret customer quality flow-downs, including ITAR, NADCAP, FAR/DFAR, and other regulatory requirements • Maintain compliance with industry standards (ISO 9001, AS9100) and customer specifications • Support new product introduction (NPI) processes by ensuring seamless configuration transitions • Participate in cross-functional meetings to capture customer requirements and incorporate lessons learned • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to implement and communicate product changes effectively • Serve as the primary point of contact for technical and systems-related questions within the department • Provide training and guidance on configuration management best practices

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred or HS Diploma and 6+ years of experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in configuration management, quotation processes, or related roles in an EMS or high-reliability manufacturing environment
  • Required Experience in Electronic Component Engineering required.
  • Must have previous experience working in a Contract Manufacturing Company.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes and industry standards
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, macros, and VBA
  • Experience with PLM and ERP systems (e.g., Agile, Arena, SAP)
  • Familiarity with aerospace and military industry standards and compliance requirements
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
