Job Description Motorola Solutions is seeking a highly organized and motivated Project Manager to lead the development and implementation of our LMR products and services. This role involves managing projects from inception to close-out, ensuring successful delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Project Leadership & Management: - Direct and manage the development and implementation of Motorola Solutions products or services. - Lead large programs or portions of very complex programs. - Coordinate internal resources, cross-functional teams, and external third-parties/vendors for flawless project execution. - Direct and coordinate the work activities of the project team, motivating them for optimal performance. - Accountable for achieving project objectives, including managing the three constraints: quality, cost, and time. Planning & Execution: - Develop the complete project plan, set deliverable dates, and track progress against them. - Define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. - Work with Scheduling and Engineering Management to ensure resource availability (Field Engineers, System Engineers, Field Service Organization, and/or Motorola Service Shop resources). - Manage and communicate changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs. - Establish, track, and audit project budgets, analyze variances, and develop necessary action plans. - Ensure effective project delivery through the use of Six Sigma and Project Management methodologies. - Identify and communicate defects in the build of material, part numbers, and software versions to product planners to resolve quality and reliability issues impacting upgrades. - Support and drive project close-out tasks for successful upgrades. Monitoring & Reporting: - Track and evaluate project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. - Participate in project review and status meetings, and clearly communicate project status. - Report and escalate issues to management as needed. - Participate in quarterly project reviews. Continuous Improvement: - Lead and drive efficiency by utilizing tools that promote Project Management best practices. - Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in Project Management efficiencies and drive their implementation. Representation & Stakeholder Management: - Successfully manage relationships with all project resources and stakeholders. - Represent the organization on projects and may perform in a project leadership role. - Involved in the management of project staff, including project reporting, administration, and communication. Strategy & Business Development (May Assist): - May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to capitalize on business opportunities. Required Knowledge & Skills: - Demonstrate a firm understanding of all nine areas of PMBOK project management with expertise in at least two areas. - Experience in running project phases and overseeing the development of a complete project plan. - Strong knowledge of Motorola Solutions Astro 25 Public Safety systems. - Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to achieve results in a multi-organizational environment. - Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills. - Must be a self-motivated team player, able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives. - Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office. Preferred Skills & Experience: - Experience with at least one of the following: Public Safety communications systems, Cellular infrastructure, Military communications, Civil construction, or IT Networks. - PMP and/or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) highly desired; PM Masters Certificate is a plus. - Understanding of two-way radio/cellular infrastructure communications products, services, and systems, Public Safety communications systems, Military communications, Civil Construction or IT Networks - Understanding of local and state public safety customers (police, fire, emergency medical services) - Motorola Solutions Field System Integration experience is a plus. Travel/Location: - Preferred to live in Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, or Illinois. - 25% - 50% domestic travel across the Midwest Region. - Must be able to travel to customer locations for on-site upgrades/work. #LI-CC1 Target Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 USD Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. Basic Requirements - Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in one of the following: Project Management, Engineering, LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, Radio Communications, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT, Motorola, Military experience, or Public Safety experience. - Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position. This role provides leadership and management of the schedule working with the Project Manager, project team, and business leadership.
