HR & Talent Manager

We're looking for a hands-on HR & Talent Manager who thrives in dynamic, fast-moving environments and genuinely enjoys the full breadth of the people function. This is not a purely strategic role — you'll roll up your sleeves and own execution across hiring, performance, onboarding, and culture. You're organized, people-first, and not afraid to build processes from scratch. You understand that in a growing company, how we hire, how we welcome new team members, and how we hold each other accountable defines who we are. What You'll Own Hiring & Talent Acquisition - Partner with hiring managers to define roles, craft job descriptions, and build structured interview processes - Own the full-cycle recruiting pipeline — sourcing, screening, coordinating, and closing - Build and refine interview scorecards and consistent evaluation criteria across teams - Manage relationships with external recruiters and job platforms as needed Onboarding - Design and continuously improve a repeatable, engaging new hire onboarding experience - Coordinate logistics across teams to ensure new employees ramp quickly and feel welcomed - Gather feedback to iterate and improve the onboarding program over time Performance & Review Processes - Build and manage semi-annual or quarterly performance review cycles - Train managers on giving effective feedback and conducting productive reviews - Establish goal-setting frameworks (OKRs or equivalent) in partnership with leadership - Support managers in handling performance improvement plans when needed Culture & Employee Experience - Champion a cohesive, values-aligned culture as the company scales - Run employee engagement surveys and translate results into action - Organize team rituals, recognition programs, and culture touchpoints - Serve as a trusted, neutral resource for employee concerns and conflict resolution HR Operations - Maintain accurate employee records, compliance documentation, and HR systems - Manage benefits administration and open enrollment coordination - Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and employment regulations - Own the employee handbook and keep policies current
Job Requirements
- 3–6 years of HR management experience, ideally in a startup, scale-up, or fast-paced SMB environment
- Demonstrated experience owning hiring processes end-to-end — not just supporting them
- Track record building or improving HR programs from the ground up
- Strong interpersonal skills — you're approachable, trustworthy, and direct
- Comfort operating with ambiguity; you don't wait for a perfect playbook
- Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms, ATS tools, and basic compliance requirements
- Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare, tech, or regulated industries
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent certification
- Experience supporting a remote or hybrid workforce
- Comfort with data — using metrics to tell the story of your HR programs
