As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. You will be responsible for supporting our customers with on-site installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Agilent Cellular Analysis instruments. Our product lines include hardware, software, networking products, and operating systems. - Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites - Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems - Performs maintenance and repairs - Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance - Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business. - Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software. - Train other field engineers and customers on the solutions. Territory Coverage - The ideal candidate will reside in MD and be close to a metro area. - The position requires an active driver's license. - Company Vehicle Program: Vehicle mileage reimbursement is eligible for this territory. - Territory: MD, VA, covering WV, and OH as needed. - Overnight Travel 50% and could include weekend work, overtime, and overnight travel, as needed. Job Requirement: Meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by customer/vendor and may include, but are not limited to, post-employment background checks, various forms of drug testing, vaccinations, fingerprinting, proof of valid identification, and/or adherence to customer-specific substance abuse programs. Qualifications - Bachelor's, Master's or other university-level degrees within the science field -- e.g. biochemistry, biotechnology or similar-- are highly preferred; may consider applicants with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience - 4+ years of experience working with analytical instrumentation, ideally including repair, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting - Experience or expertise with Liquid handling equipment and UV/FL/LUM detection products - Ability to solve high-impact problems related to product availability; typically, system/ solution-focused - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Strong customer relationship-building skills are essential - Ability to travel 50-75% of the time - A valid driver's license is required for this position Additional Details This job has a full time weekly schedule. Beckman Coulter Diagnostics Field Service Engineers provide excellent customer service to clients while installing and maintaining diagnostic instrumentation and systems in hospital and stand-alone laboratory environments. As a Field Service Engineer (FSE) you will be the face of Beckman Coulter to customers and support them, directly impacting patient health and overall well-being.
