As a Senior Integrations Engineer, you will report to the Integrations Manager and serve as a core member of the integrations discipline on Pie’s Insurance Technology team. You will be part of an agile team focused on creating frictionless operational experiences through close partnerships with engineers, system administrators, and internal stakeholders from product, customer, revenue, and employee domains. We are seeking a highly motivated and pragmatic engineer who has success leveraging foundational engineering practices in the integrations space. As an Integrations Engineer, you will have the opportunity to design, implement, continuously improve, and maintain new and existing integrations across Pie’s evolving technical landscape. How You’ll Do ItDesign: - Design, build, document, and maintain modular integrations using Workato (IpaaS), aligned with industry best practices. - Build Software Development Kits (SDK’s) to scale custom Integrations with proprietary and SaaS applications - Partner with Software Engineering to transition custom integrations to Workato. - Develop technical designs, testing strategies, and monitoring/observability plans for integrations. - Translate stakeholder and technical requirements into high-level designs and level-of-effort estimates. - Contribute to a well-documented, accessible integration architecture that supports both technical and non-technical users. Seek & Drive Continuous Improvement: - Contribute across the full integration lifecycle—from collaborative development to deployment, maintenance, and iteration. - Monitor integration health and performance; proactively identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements. - Evolve and maintain a robust testing strategy that ensures quality without slowing delivery. - Rebuild existing Custom Coded Integrations for Scale into IpaaS - Proactively triage and solve complex bugs - Identify, build, and deploy Agentic solutions to automate triaging and error handling - Implement rich error handling and logs and automated triaging Drive Operational Excellence: - Partner with Product/Finance/Ops/Engineering teams to architect solutions - Build modular, reusable components that solve multiple integration needs—now and in the future—avoiding narrowly scoped, one-off solutions. - Champion engineering best practices around scalability, security, observability, cost-efficiency, and environment management. - Weigh the capabilities and tradeoffs of multiple systems to architect maintainable, scalable integration solutions. - Validate and approve PR’s for deployment - Maintain best practices for devops, review PR’s, and coach junior engineers to scale solutions/solve bugs The Right Stuff - 5+ years of software integration experience using either iPaaS solutions, with experience in Workato. - 3+ years of experience implementing and integrating APIs using Ruby and Typescript (or Javascript) - Strong experience with cloud platforms—preferably AWS—including serverless technologies, managed databases, and SNS/SQS queues. - Experience designing and implementing observability and testing frameworks. - Strong experience with REST, SOAP, and GraphQL API methods - Experience with EDI, Flat File, CSV, and XML integrations - Strong familiarity with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, and an iterative, customer-focused mindset. - Experience with Product, Finance, and/or Operations Stakeholder Management - Experience working in a product-led organization - Experience integrating with enterprise applications such as Salesforce, financial systems (Intacct, NetSuite, Workday Financials), HRIS platforms (e.g. Workday), and ServiceNow. - Experience integrating with proprietary applications/endpoints - Experience building and hosting API endpoints in iPaaS The use of AI in Application Review: To support a fair, efficient, and consistent hiring process, we use AI-powered tools to assist in the initial screening of applications.
