The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of the various nursing programs through teaching, clinical supervision, research, and service. Key Responsibilities: Teach a variety of graduate nursing courses, including but not limited to general nursing and specialized courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, including Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), or other related programs. Develop and implement innovative, evidence-based teaching strategies for online learning environments. Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, helping them set academic and professional goals. Engage in curriculum development, program assessment and evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives for nursing programs. Participate in faculty meetings and accreditation-related activities, including assisting the Dean of Nursing with the preparation of CCNE accreditation documents. Maintain office hours as per St. Thomas University guidelines and support the program’s goals through direct involvement in faculty initiatives. Actively participate in simulation-based learning activities as needed. Collaborate with faculty members to enhance student learning, clinical placements, and program development. Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, including faculty committees and community engagement. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student success and addresses the needs of a diverse student population. Conduct and publish research in areas related to nursing practice, education, or healthcare. Stay current with advances in nursing practice and education to continuously improve teaching and clinical instruction. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Education Background: Ph.D. or DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) in Nursing from an accredited institution. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Practitioner. Certification: National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Practitioner. Active, unencumbered RN and APRN licenses in the state of residence, with compact licensure preferred. Licensure: Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida. Experience: Demonstrates excellence in teaching at the university level with a minimum of three years of experience. Experience in clinical instruction and/or mentoring students in practical settings with a minimum of three years of experience. At least three (3) years of clinical experience as an FNP. Proven ability to teach in both traditional and online course formats. Experience with nursing curriculum development and program assessment. Strong interest and experience in student advising and mentoring. Active engagement in scholarly activity, with potential for continued research and publication. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a specialized area of nursing practice, such as family nursing practitioner. Involvement in research or scholarship related to their field of nursing. Knowledge of accreditation standards and experience with accreditation preparation. The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid, 12-week experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers meaningful work experience at non-profits all over the United States tackling some of our nation's most pressing challenges. Eligible candidates will be geographically located within the U.S. and authorized to work in the U.S. through the duration of the program. Throughout your internship, you will gain meaningful professional experience at a partner organization and participate in professional development built around a 2-day, in-person summit hosted by Stand Together Fellowships at Stand Together's Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, supported by virtual programming that takes place every other Thursday between 1- 4:00 pm ET. Interns will receive either a $7,500 or $5,500 stipend from Stand Together Fellowships depending on whether they are working full-time (32 hours/week) or part-time (24 hours/week) with the partner organization. Interns should be prepared to tackle complex assignments from a free market and limited government perspective. An understanding of the basic principles of microeconomics is expected. Further knowledge of economics, budgeting, tax policy, and/or accounting is helpful, though not required. Interns may also have the opportunity to attend political events outside of the office.
