As a Senior Writer, Events Communications, you will lead donor-facing communications for our flagship in-person events. You will work at the intersection of program, fundraising, and storytelling—owning the written experience that recruits the right partners into the room, prepares them to participate meaningfully on site, and converts that engagement into sustained involvement and philanthropic outcomes after the event. This position is ideal for a writer–strategist who thrives in complex, high-stakes environments; is comfortable translating ambitious event objectives into clear, compelling communications; and can operate confidently across multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, and iterative review cycles. Location for the role is flexible to Arlington, VA or remote. How You Will Contribute Own donor event communications end-to-end: - Write and steward all major donor-facing communications tied to tentpole events, including invitation letters and emails, recruitment and retention messaging, anticipation and preparation materials, on-site welcome and contextual pieces, and post-event follow-up communications designed to advance fundraising and engagement goals. - Ensure communications are aligned across the full partner journey—from first invitation through post-event conversion—while adapting tone, framing, and calls to action by audience segment and event phase. Develop adjacent event content that shapes the on-site experience: - Draft and refine event-adjacent content such as session titles and descriptions, app and digital platform copy, and on-site storytelling elements (e.g., partner features, installations, or printed materials) that help partners understand where they fit in the work and how to engage. - Translate programming objectives and partner strategy into clear, motivating language that sets expectations and elevates the quality of on-site participation. Enable and reinforce 1:1 partner engagement: - Create scaled communications, frameworks, and toolkits that reinforce and amplify one-to-one outreach led by Partnership Advisors. - Design messaging that tees up advisor conversations, reinforces key themes, and helps partners connect event participation to broader philanthropic opportunities. Navigate complex, high-velocity workflows: - Operate comfortably in a fast-moving environment with parallel reviews, evolving inputs, and firm production deadlines. - Manage drafts and revisions across shared documents and source-of-truth materials, incorporating feedback efficiently while maintaining narrative clarity and quality. - Prepare communications for senior internal signers, including C-suite executives, with attention to voice, credibility, and strategic intent. What You Will Bring - Significant experience writing high-stakes communications for senior leaders, donors, or partners, ideally in philanthropy, nonprofit, mission-driven, or complex stakeholder environments. - Proven ability to own a communications stream end-to-end, from strategy and framing through execution and revision. - Strong editorial judgment and narrative instincts, paired with comfort working through dense feedback, multiple reviewers, and evolving direction. - Experience collaborating across functions such as events, marketing, fundraising, or partnerships. - Confidence writing for senior internal signers and navigating voice, tone, and positioning accordingly. - Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in deadline-driven, multi-workstream contexts. - Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together's vision and principled approach to solving problems, and a commitment to stewarding our culture, which champions values including transformation and innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect. • Produce policy research, commentaries, and other written products that address key issues in privatization • Be entrepreneurial in identifying value-added policy projects with existing teams • Researching federal, state, and local government finance issues • Support team members in working with elected officials, government managers, and interested stakeholders who are seeking to implement meaningful financial policy changes • Other duties as assigned

• Produce policy research, commentaries, and other written products that address key issues in technology policy. • Be entrepreneurial in identifying value added policy projects with existing teams. • Researching federal, state, and local technology policy issues. • Support team members in working with elected officials and government managers and interested stakeholders who are seeking to implement meaningful technology policy changes • Other duties as assigned

• Researching and summarizing various components of state and local transportation policy and operations to support our research and implementation efforts • Writing policy studies, policy briefs, op-eds, and commentaries for Reason.org and other outlets • Compiling and analyzing spreadsheets and datasets, and communicating findings to team members and other stakeholders • Tracking legislative reform efforts in various states and producing regular reports for the transportation policy team • Tracking and recording various outputs for the transportation policy team, including legislative meetings, written deliverables, commentaries, and other outputs • Participating in coalitions that advance Reason Foundation’s transportation policy agenda at the state level • Other duties as assigned • Travel and attendance to a few conferences per year are expected.

• Analyzing proposed policy changes and reporting on benefits, drawbacks, and other findings to team members • Collecting and sharing data and other pertinent information to team members in preparation for legislative testimony, legislative briefings, public speaking, events, and media appearances • Assisting team members with policy research, including researching and summarizing various components of state and federal laws to support our policy research and implementation efforts • Writing commentary and blog posts for Reason.org and other outlets • Other duties as assigned • Occasional travel might be required

• Lead end-to-end fundraising campaign strategy. Drive the full lifecycle of fundraising campaigns—from narrative development and value proposition design to donor segmentation, channel strategy, and execution—ensuring alignment with movement strategies. • Build and scale a durable, multi-channel fundraising pipeline. Develop and optimize a diversified funding pipeline across high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate partners; apply demand generation and segmentation strategies to drive qualified engagement and maximize conversion. • Translate movement strategy into compelling cases for support. Craft clear, inspiring fundraising narratives that connect donor investment to large-scale cultural impact—linking storytelling, partnerships, and participation to measurable outcomes (reach, engagement, contribution). • Drive cross-sector partnership fundraising strategies. Collaborate with corporate partners, cultural institutions, and nonprofit organizations to align funding with activation—securing both financial investment and participation in the broader movement ecosystem. • Enable fundraising across a complex, integrated ecosystem. Partner with marketing, product, partnerships, and frontline fundraising teams to ensure consistent messaging, effective enablement tools, and seamless execution across campaigns, platforms, and activations. • Leverage data and insights to optimize performance. Design and implement performance frameworks and dashboards to track pipeline health, campaign effectiveness, and ROI; continuously refine strategies based on data and experimentation. • Partner with senior leadership on strategic growth. Support long-term planning, resource allocation, and investment prioritization to scale fundraising efforts in alignment with ambitious national goals.

• Manage and grow the Institute’s presence on social media platforms, ensuring consistent voice and engagement (X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube). • Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies that advance the Institute’s mission and key initiatives. • Draft, edit, and refine written content, including newsletters, website updates, and research summaries. • Plan and create multimedia content (graphics, video clips) to support projects and engage new audiences. • Track communications performance and metrics; contribute insights for ongoing improvement. • Maintain organized documentation of communications assets. • Collaborate with staff and contractors to ensure consistent voice and visual design across products.

• Support the work of the Independent Women’s Law Center and broader IW policy team by tracking, analyzing, and translating legal and regulatory developments • Assist in producing legal and policy content that supports IW’s mission and advances its policy priorities • Serve as a key support resource for the Law Center and policy teams • Help bridge legal analysis and policy work across issue areas • Work to advance IW’s mission and share core values • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

• Follow, analyze, research, write, and speak on policies related to child care, paid leave, and broader family policy issues for IW. • Produce thoughtful policy content that builds support for flexible, family-centered policy solutions. • Serve as a resource whenever IW’s family policy efforts or the larger organization need support on issues related to child care, paid leave, and family economic security. • Work to advance IW’s mission and share core values, be a team player, and be knowledgeable about the family policy landscape. • Focus on offering support to IW’s policy team and existing policy experts and staff.

• Build and manage a focused portfolio of top-tier institutional and family foundation partners, as well as select major individual donors • Originate and close 7-figure+ commitments through structured, multi-stakeholder engagement • Develop tailored strategies that align foundation priorities with scalable, high-impact initiatives • Cultivate long-term partnerships with foundation executives, program officers, and family decision-makers • Own the full lifecycle from prospect identification through close and renewal • Navigate complex decision processes, aligning multiple stakeholders and timelines • Develop clear, compelling investment cases, including proposals, financial frameworks, and impact narratives • Maintain rigorous pipeline discipline to drive predictable, multi-year revenue outcomes • Partner with program and executive teams to shape institutional-grade opportunities, and complex portfolio level gifts across non-profit, educational curriculum, for-profit, policy advocacy, and media amplification • Translate strategy into fundable initiatives with defined outcomes and measurement frameworks • Serve as a connector across the organization to ensure alignment between partner expectations, delivery and stewardship to drive deeper donor relationships
