Become a Krakenite and build the future of crypto! Proof of work The team We're looking for a technically fluent, automation-first project manager to drive delivery across our Onboarding Platform team. You've shipped code before — and that background helps you navigate complex vendor integrations, earn engineering trust, and build AI-powered workflows that actually scale. Critically, you don't just configure Jira: you script it. You use the Atlassian REST API or MCP to build real automations, and you know your way around workflow orchestration tools like n8n. You'll sit at the intersection of engineering, compliance, and product — owning the full delivery lifecycle for one of our most critical customer-facing systems. This role operates across KYC, AML, sanctions screening, onboarding compliance, and third-party vendor integration. This role is fully remote. We consider candidates in EU and EST US/LATAM timezones. The opportunity - Drive end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional projects spanning customer onboarding, identity verification, KYC/AML workflows, and compliance tooling. - Build and maintain custom automations, integrations, and reporting pipelines using the Atlassian REST API and/or MCP going well beyond native Jira automation rules. - Design and deploy multi-system workflow automations connecting Jira, Confluence, and third-party tools; lead n8n workflow development where applicable. - Coordinate technical integration of third-party KYC, sanctions screening, and identity providers; own timelines, SLAs, and integration quality. - Maintain ongoing capacity planning visibility model sprint and quarterly team bandwidth against roadmap commitments and surface resourcing constraints proactively. - Design and deploy AI-assisted workflows that reduce manual overhead across compliance operations, onboarding review, and engineering coordination. - Build and manage project plans, roadmaps, dashboards, and release timelines with clear dependency mapping and risk tracking. - Align stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Compliance, Legal, Security, and executive leadership — with communication calibrated to each audience. - Facilitate standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and planning sessions with a bias toward systemic improvement. - Partner with external vendors to define requirements and hold them to technical and compliance standards. Skills you should HODL - 6+ years of Technical Project Management experience in fast-paced, cross-functional software organizations. - Development background — prior experience as a software or data engineer; you read PRs, understand system design, and communicate business impact and risk based on development timeline changes. - Atlassian API or MCP scripting — demonstrated experience using the Atlassian REST API or MCP to build automations, custom integrations, or data pipelines beyond native Jira automation rules. - Scripting proficiency — Python, JS, bash, or similar; you write the script yourself, not just the ticket requesting it. - AI and process automation — hands-on experience designing or deploying AI-assisted workflows or LLM-integrated tooling in a professional context. - Capacity planning — proven ability to model team capacity, track velocity, and translate bandwidth constraints into clear roadmap trade-offs. - Agile and waterfall fluency — you pick the right methodology for the context, not the one you prefer. - Strong communicator — able to synthesize technical complexity into clear plans, status updates, and executive summaries Nice to haves - n8n — experience building multi-step workflow automations; familiarity with nodes, triggers, and webhook-based orchestration. - KYC, AML, or sanctions screening platform experience. - Onboarding compliance knowledge across multiple jurisdictions. - Experience managing complex third-party vendor integrations end-to-end, including SLA accountability. - Familiarity with event-driven architectures, REST APIs, and webhook patterns. - FinTech or regulated industry background with data sensitivity and security awareness. Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution. We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance. Kraken is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate all Krakenites for their diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions and unique perspectives. We hire strictly based on merit, meaning we seek out the candidates with the right abilities, knowledge, and skills considered the most suitable for the job. We encourage you to apply for roles where you don't fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you're passionate or knowledgable about crypto! We may ask candidates to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments as part of our hiring process. These assessments are designed to evaluate competencies relevant to the role and are applied consistently across candidates for similar positions. Assessment results are considered alongside other relevant information, such as experience and interviews, and are not the sole basis for any employment decision. As an equal opportunity employer, we don’t tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind. Whether that’s based on race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, veteran status or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state or local laws.
