Junior Design Engineer (Contractor) Location: Remote | Salary: TBD | Employment: Full-time (International Contractor) WHO WE ARE Altitude Aerospace delivers engineering and certification solutions for commercial and VIP aircraft programs worldwide. THE ROLE Support the design, development, and certification of aircraft components, structures, and interiors. Working under the guidance of senior design engineers, you will develop engineering solutions that meet regulatory, safety, and manufacturability requirements across active aircraft programs. This role puts your CAD skills to work on real aircraft with firm delivery dates. WHAT YOU'LL DO Design & Deliver - Generate 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CATIA. - Develop design solutions that meet FAA/EASA regulatory, safety, and manufacturability requirements. - Produce engineering packages and technical documentation to support production and certification teams. - Participate in design reviews and technical meetings, contributing analysis and documentation. Coordinate & Support - Coordinate with structures, certification, and manufacturing teams to resolve design interface issues. - Support certification activities by providing accurate drawings, models, and technical data. - Assist senior engineers in developing and refining design solutions throughout the program lifecycle. Impact: Your designs support aircraft certification programs and go into flying aircraft. You will build technical depth across multiple disciplines on a small, high-performing team. WHAT YOU BRING Required - Bachelor's in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering - 0 to 5 years of experience in aerospace design engineering - Proficiency in CAD software -- SolidWorks preferred; AutoCAD and CATIA experience a plus - Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings and documentation - Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional coordination Preferred - Exposure to FAA or EASA regulatory requirements (Part 25, STCs, or similar) - Experience with aircraft structures, interiors, or systems design - Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision WHY ALTITUDE - Real Programs: Work on active aircraft completions and STCs, not shelf studies. - Variety: Exposure to commercial, VIP, and military platforms across multiple OEM programs. - Mentorship: Work directly with senior engineers who are invested in your technical development. - Growth: Small enough to learn multiple disciplines, large enough for international projects. This position is responsible for the design of building electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm, and special systems, with a strong emphasis on healthcare projects. Key Responsibilities - Develop electrical system designs in accordance with project scope, client requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards. - Provide engineering planning, design, and construction administration services for: - Power distribution systems - Lighting and lighting control systems - Fire alarm systems - Nurse Call systems - Other low voltage systems - Perform existing building surveys and document current electrical and fire alarm conditions. - Prepare, edit, and coordinate electrical specifications and construction documents. - Author engineering reports, assessment reports, and Basis of Design (BOD) documents. - Coordinate closely with internal project teams, architects, and other engineering disciplines. - Participate in and lead technical discussions, design coordination meetings, and client presentations. - Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field coordination as needed. - Assist Project Managers with technical input, schedule coordination, and project execution.
