This position is an early-career capture role designed to develop strong federal acquisition, contracting, and capture strategy expertise over time. An Associate Capture Strategist is responsible for supporting the development and execution of federal growth strategies for clients looking to grow their innovative technology within the Department of War (DoW). This role begins by assisting experienced Capture Strategists in building and executing federal growth strategies and gradually progresses to independently managing a portfolio of clients. Associate Capture Strategists initially support senior team members by performing research on behalf of clients, assisting with opportunity identification within the DoW, supporting federal outreach efforts, and gaining hands-on experience with the federal acquisition process. As experience, judgment, and subject-matter knowledge grow, this role evolves to include direct responsibility for managing and maintaining enduring, long-term relationships with assigned clients, including developing a deep understanding of the clients’ technology, goals, and pain points; clearly communicating strategic plans; advising them on the potential benefits/drawbacks of that plan; adeptly navigating conflict to a peaceful resolution; and expertly focusing efforts on high-value efforts based on professional judgement. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, developing a deep understanding of client technologies and goals, communicating strategically and professionally, and delivering timely, high-quality support while receiving mentorship, feedback, and increasing responsibility.
