Field Service Engineer
ZTR
• Configure and support ZTR control systems using advanced PLC knowledge • Perform on-site commissioning and investigative troubleshooting of ZTR equipment • Provide technical training to customers on-site • Collaborate with and support the sales team as required • Participate in project coordination and project management activities as needed • Travel domestically and internationally (approximately 15%–30%, including travel within the U.S.)
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3-year diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology or Professional Engineer or Valid electrician license
- Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems and locomotive electrical systems
- Advanced PLC programming and configuration skills
- Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus)
- Basic to intermediate understanding of Ethernet networking, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, and Wi-Fi
- Proficiency with standard computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Hands-on technical experience required
- Candidates with locomotive and/or freight railway experience will be given preference
